Biography : MoonMadness

MoonMadness, a hard rocking yet melodic band from Tampere Finland, has gone through some amazing journeys both before and after their debut album, "All In Between", was released in Finland on May 7th 2008.

The band describes their music as melodramatic heavy rock that mixes influences throughout 70's and 80's to contemporary metal and according to various reviews of "All In Between" around the globe it seems that this vision is also shared with the public eye.

Outside the studio environment MoonMadness has made their mark by gigging through both all the major cities to smaller towns of Finland, between clubs and larger venues, through festivals to stadium-size arenas where supporting likes of Sonata Arctica, Yngwie Malmsteen and Bon Jovi.

MoonMadness had its initial starting point already around the Millennium when old buddies Otto and Juha wanted to start all over with new band on a totally new basis.

In late 2001 the first one aboard was Turkka, who was spotted playing at a local bar. An instrumental rendition of an Iron Maiden tune played with organ, bass and drums got the guys convinced. Vocalist Satu Jaronen joined in mid 2003 and by spring 2004 the line-up was completed with drummer Ari Toikka. Only weeks later in April MoonMadness played their first show.

The band recorded a live demo from their second show, which already got some nationwide airplay, and continued working at the live front. In February 2006 MoodMadness released their debut' single "Thunder" which got positive reviews all around. However, due to his other commitments, Ari found it impossible to fit MoonMadness in his schedule so in the same month he passed the drum throne to Antto Nikolai.

Also around the same time Satu was stepping to the back seat and after a long search Heidi took over the vocal duties in late summer 2006. During autumn the band started works on the album and some live dates followed. Heidi's third show in December was filmed and later a live video of the track "Ain't no Angel" emerged as part of the "Stroke Of Midnight" single, which charted on the Finnish Top-20 in May 2007.

When the album, containing ten MoonMadness originals, was at finishing stages in early 2008 a music video of "Shot Through the Wing" was made, which was premiered on nationwide television in April. Right after the Finnish release of "All In Between" on May 7th MoonMadness was due to hit the road at which point Tomi Krutsin sat on the drum seat. The spring tour in rock clubs through major Finnish cities in May headed to the Sauna Open Air festival and just a week after to the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki where supporting Bon Jovi on 16th of June. And now the adventure is just beginning...
