Биография : Worship (GER)

Worship was born in 1999 with 2 doom kommands Mad Max, who was the editor of French underground zine Ocean Morphique, and Daniel the Doommonger, who was the guitarist of German doom band Somber Serenity. Soon after, they recorded their first release "Last Tape before Doomsday", which was released by Mad Max"s own label Impaler of Trendies Prod. After, it was re-released from Japanese Weird Truth Prod. Their music on that tape was extremely slow, dismal, heavy, trend krushing doom. At that time, true doom was infected by boring so-called gothic/doom shit. Many distros, label and zines used the word "doom" to explain boring mid-tempo melodic metal.(Perhsaps, there are still many people who don"t know the true meaning of "DOOM") Worship smashed those shits and their "TRUE DOOM" remided many people of what it was.

Following to the kult demo "Last Tape before Doomsday", they released split 7" with Agathocles again from IoT prod. in the end of 2000. On that EP, their music became more and more extreme than demo.

After the release of 7", Mad Max recorded his drum & vocal tracks for their 1st LP and some split releases. Then he went to Canada to stay there for a while. But when he returned to France, his body was just a handful of ashes... On 23rd July 2001, when he drank with his Canadian friends, he jumped from high bridge smashing friend"s face. I don"t know what did make him decide to end his life. Some of his friends are saying he had been really possessed by suicide. Perhaps alcohol helped to make his wish true. Anwyay, Worship cane to an end by his death.

Daniel inherited Max"s heritage, unreleased materials on which only drum and vocal tracks are recorded. He recorded his guitar parts to immortalize Max"s pain and depression. In Feburuary 2002, some songs for splits were finally completed and Painiac rec from Belgium releases Split 10" with Stabat Mater and 12" version of "Last Tape..." demo.

Max has not already been in here, but his music will be in the soul of true underground people eternally. Worship Mad Max!
