Dear reader,

Thank you very much for your interest in the band.
Shadowpath was founded in late 2006 by Ben and me. We knew each other already from previous jam sessions but until this point have never really seriously worked on a record - or seriosly worked together on anything...
But then, some day in autumn and a beer in hand, the idea of ShadowPath (which was first called Spellbound) was born.

With Sam, Amos and Karin, we found the perfect drummer, bass player and singer to realize our ideas - so the line-up was confirmed very quickly.
From it's very early days until now, the band has developed strongly and the sound shows not only our broad influences (from Opeth, Rage, and the early Nightwish to Isis and Hammerfall), but also reminds us of the very different backgrounds, that each member brings into the band. Although about 90% of the material is written by me, we always include individual aspects in the arrangements of the songs, which is why the result always is pure ShadowPath.

All of the original five members are still with Shadowpath today and after recording a 12 track-demo, we are focussing on producing a studio album now. Our first few live gigs got very good feedbacks and we're planning to do some more until the end of 2009.

Now how to describe the sound of Shadowpath finally ? That's hard to do, but I'll try.
It is very emotional, it is expressive. It contains sweet harmonies as well as heavy parts, angelic voices as well as powerful growls. It is dark, but not fatalistic. A silver star in the night, brillant and pale. Full of sorrow, full of questions, of burning feelings and blessed hope.
I hope you'll enjoy what you'll hear and - if you like and come visit one of our live gigs - what you'll see. The story has only just begun and we invite you kindly to join us as we follow the Shadowpath...
