Биография : Sexton's Orchids

Sexton's Orchids was born in July 2003, in Granada (Spain), as a Thrash-Death metal band. It was founded by three good friends: Eloy Martínez (vocals),Daniel Lara (guitars), and Luís Rodríguez (drums). They had been playing together previously in the bands Rhyme and Adder.
A couple months later, two more friends joined the band, Carlos Retamero(guitars) and Isaac Rodríguez (bass guitar). The line up was then completed.

The band began writing songs right away, which meant no issue in getting the members adapted to each others, as most of them had been playing together and were experienced musicians: Eloy withRhyme as bass player and with Adder as vocalist, Dani as guitarist/songwriter with Rhyme, Isaac with Morior Ergo Sum and Luis with Adder and Rhyme.Carlos had no band experience before, but his skilled playing made him adapt in no time.

In November 2003, the band performed their first show in the venue Planta Baja, supporting the band Veronica's Aggressive State, enjoying a great acceptance from the audience.
March 6th 2004, the band travelled to Castelló de Rugat to play as the guest act inSala El Cuerno, with well known bands Nadir and Tanatossis. During 2004,Sexton's Orchids kept in working and arranging the songs, adding each member's taste to them, in order to include them in the band's first EP: A Thousand Bleeding Dawns...

January 13th 2005 the band took part on the prestigious upcoming band contest: Emergenza Festival, winning the first night and going up to semifinals, playing with bands likeCanker.
Between January/February 2005, the band hit the studio to record their first EP, consisting in five polished and aggressive songs.
New Wave Studios in Granada was the chosen place to record A Thousand Bleeding Dawns... Songs presented were: The Madness of God, Sacrificed, Cry my Death with Blood, Die Bastard and At the Gates of Perversion. To be mentioned, the sound quality, production, and the good job by technicians Manuel Sánchez and Pedro Cejudo, made the EP stand out at the time.
It reflects the band just how it was: powerful, wild and bondless regarding songwriting and lyrics. Raw guitars, rumbling bass and drums and ripping vocals.

In April 2005 the band took the second place among many bands at the Espacio Libre contest, performing several times through the city.
May 14th 2005 the band presented A Thousand Bleeding Dawns... at Colegio Mayor Isabel la Católica, performing its whole catalog so far, with great success.

In November 12th of the same year, the band performed in Piorno Rock festival, together with big acts such as Samael, Dark Funeral, UFO, After Forever ...
Early 2006, Carlos Retamero left the band due to his obligations, and for a period of time the band choose to stay as a four piece.
Later that year, in December, the band put a big show together to raise funds for the recording of the first album. Back at the very first gig's venue, Planta Baja, the show was sold out and a complete success.

Shortly afterwards, during 2007, the recording of Trendkill occupied most of the band's time. The place selected this time around wasGárgola Records in Guadix, where Engineer Manuel Sánchez was working at the time.
Next year, 2008, a three song EP saw the light, presenting Fed by Demons,Genetic Theory of Pain and Suicidal Verses, out of Trendkill.
During 2008 and 2009, the band performed constantly promoting the EP throughout the whole country, and finally, Trendkill was released in 2010 by A New Label Records.

In the summer of 2010, the band decided to look for a second guitar player again and Ángel Lozano joined Sexton's Orchids. Former guitar player in bands Contrha and Adder, Ángel quickly addapts to the band and provided a new breed to it.
In September, they had the chance to play in Zaidín-Rock festival, in front of thousands of people, pairing with national bands like Avalanch and Azrael.
Later that month, Eloy quit the band for personal reasons, which made the guys sad to see him go, even him, but hey, that's life. The obvious choice was Isaacstepped up to do the vocals too, being a four piece once again.

By the end of the year, a show at Sala Whowith Taifa and Vivid Remorse was meant for Isaac's new duties debut. With great success, the band never looked back.
2011 was mostly spent on songwriting, but in October, a tour with Italian band Arthemis and friends Azrael named Metal Forces United Tour took place. Four days in a row where Sexton's Orchids developed their new rolling machine with Isaac as the frontman.

In 2012 the band spent most of the year arranging and doing pre-production for their next album. A step up in quality was due and they chose Sonic Train Studios in Sweden for that very reason. Produced, mixed and mastered by rock legend Andy LaRocque, Scarma reveals such a great evolution from their previous work. Mature, complex, melodic yet powerful, the new album is fresh and the sound and production are outstanding.
The last January 24th 2015, the band took part in a tribute festival to Chuck Schuldiner, leader of the mythical band Death, together with Anachronic and Canker. This three bands played own songs and good few covers of this american band. The event took place in Sala El Tren, located in Granada, and was a great success.
Due to personal reasons, Angel left the band on April 2015, thus remaining the band as a trio until a new axeman is found.

After several contacts with record labels, finally the band reached an agreement with Santo Grial Producciones to edit and distribute the new album Scarma, which was published in March 2016. This new work received rave reviews and was a great leap forward in the career of Sexton's Orchids.
