In a time when black metal started to spread its demonic wings in Sri Lanka, two teenagers named Buddhika and Thusitha took the initiative to form a band that will define misanthropy and sadism...this project was named "Forlorn Hope" and it featured Buddhika on (Vocals),TPKR on (Drums),Darshan on (Guitars),Banuka on (Guitars),Dias on (Bass) and Mositha on (keyboards) the band was heavily influenced by Old School black metal, the band draws inspiration from acts such as Bathory,Gorgoroth,Mayhem,Burzum,Emperor and Enthroned. Forlorn Hope`slyrical content varies from issues such as political and religious oppression to sadism to atheism. Forlorn Hope captures the rawness of the black metal movement whilst the use of Keyboards give their tracks a melodic but intense feel to it..... "Wilted" was the debut release of Forlorn Hope, Wilted was a six track EP with 3 tracks and 3 instrumentals, it was released in December 2004, The EP was sold out and received a warm welcome from the ever growing black metal legions in Kandy..... By this time problems were weighing heavily on Banuka, which made him leave the band..Banukas departure was a serious loss for Forlorn Hope but soon the band had Kodda from Plague Imprisoned as their new guitarist.... After being selected for the KAM heavy metal compilation in 2005, the band was offered a chance to do a split ep with Indonesian black metal act Kilowon, the band has completed four new tracks for the upcoming release titled "Lurid Remains" which is most likely to see a late November release date.... Forlorn Hope has been able to ink a deal with the U.M.C (Underground Metal Circle) and their currently playing alongside bands such as Whirlwind, Siblings of Hatred, Spleen Saint, Old Castle's Massacre and Despair. The band is also planning to release a music video and their long awaited album "Diabolism" in 2007.
