Everybody chooses its own way in life and, in particular, in music, if we speak about a band. Some play music in vein of their favourite band; others try to discover some new horizons among the 7 notes. Some try to show their great skills, some want to be a rock-star. And so on. Italian band Devastator has its own vision of the world (there are a lot of bands with such name in the world, and Italians for sure will have difficulties with proving their vision is the best). And Devastator’s vision released in 2009 is named “Underground ‘N’ Roll” – very promising name which can define the way they chose in music.

Devastator’s creativity has at least one great quality: it entertains. It’s wild music, the crazy mix of different genres, and some of you may not like it. Something from punk, alternative and hardcore, and also thrash metal, aggressive and fast music with good guitar work. On the other side, they have humour (you can notice it already looking at the album cover) and amazing rock’n’roll feeling. So, the next big success of this band is that they manage to keep the balance and combine all these elements in harmony. The album sounds as a single whole. These guys definitely do what they want, what they can and what they love, and they overlay their songs with inspired energy – I would like to check this band on stage, they have all the chances to make this music shine on stage!.. And about prosaic details – the quality of the recording and production is really good. So in a whole the album is not so underground in every sense, but it’s definitely ‘n’roll!

Of course we can notice what could be better – like variety of songs (you know, sometimes the next song sound too much like the previous one), vocals in some points and vocalist’s accent… But there’s no limit to perfection. Let’s see what will be next.
