Biografia : Trip Hop Children

Trip Hop Children was a rap/rock group from Topeka, Kansas formed sometime around 1996-1997 by five friends who had played together under different names and with different members since around 1994. The original lineup consisted of Richard Eakes and Noah Neff on vocals, Waylon Bahner on guitar, Jered Taylor on bass, and Rusty Wiley on drums. This lineup recorded their first demo (Songs from storage unit 17) in 1998. The title referenced the storage unit that was the practice space Trip Hop Children shared with Effigy, a pop/punk band that featured Rusty on guitar and vocals. In 1998, shortly after the demo was recorded, Rusty left to focus more on Effigy.

After Rusty's departure Brandon Yingling was brought in as his replacement drummer. This lineup remained until early 1999 when Erik Kessinger was brought in to be the main drummer while Brandon switched to percussion. Later in the year, Jason Peters joined the band on turntables and Mike Hall was brought in to be a second guitarist. This new lineup was starting to transform from a rap/rock group into more of a rap/metal group.

Trip Hop Children recorded and released their only full length album Motion Discomfort in 2000. Before the album was released, Jason Peters and Trip Hop Children parted ways. Then in late 2000 Waylon left, he was replaced on guitar by Zeke Calabrese. This new lineup continued to play shows and work on material for a follow up album until 2002, when Jered left. He was replaced on bass by John Barry. Trip Hop Children broke up shortly after that in early 2003.
