After a while been part of the Melodic Death Metal band "In Emptiness", Sullen (vocals) decided to part ways to form a project that better fits his passion. Soon after his departure from the band, Sullen & bassist L.Amenofis from the band "Amenofis" and guitarist Nephast from "Amenofis" & "Menstruator" formed "Umbra Solemne". Mephisto and Gio from the band "Eterno Retorno" later joined the project.

This lineup, however, was short lived because of constant conflicts between L.Amenofis, Mephisto and Gio (needles to say at this point, Mephisto and Gio left the band). After some time, Vinterlord (guitars) joined the group and Pravus, founder of the band "Swallow The Nazarene" and "In Emptiness" came in to replace Mephisto but later switched to keyboards. Soon after, however, L.Amenofis left the band (taking with him the original band name to use it on his future material since he came up with it) because he needed more time for his solo project. Nephast soon followed suit due to personal reasons and oversaturate schedules (too many projects on his hands), leaving only Sullen, Vinterlord and Pravus to carry-on the pain. After looking really hard for like-minded souls in a worthless act, Sullen almost gave up, feeling it was time to put his urge to slumber.

Months past, until multi-faceted musician Çålàver, mastermind of the band "Mortinato" met Sullen and talked about an idea he had (for a band) for so long (which just happened to match what Sullen was trying to do as well) thus he was really interested in forming part of the coven and brought with him not only a guitarist role but also fresh ideas and the inclusion of classical instruments. The mournful agony began to take shape and "Senium" was born. "Senium" is a Latin word for melancholy, gloom and decay, a definition that fits well the band sorrowful aura.

After sometime looking for a drummer, long time friend Mephisto decided to give it another chance and came back to play with the group. Finally the band began getting their act together and the sounds of desolation started flowing…riffs started getting written, lyrics started getting spoken, the solitude and despair was growing…Still, the band was a bass player short. After a few rehearsals, Sullen managed to convince fellow friend Pervious to play bass for the group. By this time, Nenia Aelinos showed interest for the creativity and musical direction of the band and wanted to form part as a session musician for additional guitars and bass lines (or whatever she could lend a hand).

However, for personal reasons and tight schedules Pravus (keyboards) had to quit the band but stayed as a session musician as well in case the band needed help with something. Some time passed until Valek, guitarist of "In Emptiness" (after taking a break out of bands for a while to take care of other personal stuff) talked to Sullen about making something together once more, Sullen told him he needed a Keyboardist for "Senium" and Valek accepted the request immediately and was welcomed to form part of the band. In need of extra melodies and additional guitar lines, Valek once more took the guitar in hand becoming not only a keyboardist but also a third guitar player.

The time passed and the new year brought with it new tragedies. Çålàver was forced to part ways with the group as lots of personal problems were occurring but always able and willing to give a friendly hand... Valek also quit the band for a while but came back, this time leaving his keyboards duties behind to replace Çålàver in guitar, then Pravus came back in as a permanent member making "SENIUM" a three guitars act. Once again the band is in need of one of the main instruments they so much need to express their feeling in it fullness, Keyboards. Senium is trying out new keyboardist in order to fill that empty space.

Still, in spite of the many setbacks and lineup situations, "Senium" lives, and we are determined to fulfill our need to express what's in our darkened hearts onto unsuspecting people and help them reach deep within their anguish to do the same...
