1. IT'S ALIVE!

I shall relate events
That impressed me with feelings which,
From what I had been, have made me what I am.

It’s Alive!!!

I was a poor, helpless, miserable wretch;
I knew, and could distinguish, nothing;
But feeling pain invade me on all sides,
I sat down and wept.

Unfeeling, heartless creator !

You had endowed me with perceptions and passions

And then cast me abroad an object

For the scorn and horror of mankind.

I will work at your destruction,
Nor finish until I desolate your heart,
So that you shall curse the hour of your birth.

Cursed creator! Why did I live ?
Inflamed by pain,
I vowed eternal hatred and vengeance to all mankind.
