1. A SHAMELESS KING

“Once upon a time, in a land of green valleys and clear Rivers, people dwell under the heavy reign of their king
Their king lives in lust and sin, spending his time Selfishly, feasting on wine and maidens.”

Once upon a time
There was a valley along a river so
Clear, and meadows so green and fresh
Trees had grown so tall and so old
In forests so deep, the rain never reached the
Ground, so still you could sleep forever

Summer was warm and rain didn’t lack
Wind always blew softly through the Oaks’ leaves
Birds always sang their sweet songs of joy while
Water ran swiftly in clear stone-clad streams

Summer was warm and rain didn’t lack
Wind always blew softly through the Oaks’ leaves
Birds always sang their sweet songs of joy while
Water ran swiftly in clear stone-clad streams

Yet, people lived in misery, misery
Yet, people lived in misery, misery
Yet, people lived in misery, misery

A shameless king reigned on the valley
He lived of his lust of his hunger for sin
In his castle he did feast on the spoils of his wars
On his throne he rejoiced for the gold he did steal

“Shameless king
your time will come
Shameless king
your time will come” chanted the crowd

His army was strong, protected his castle
Not from the enemy, but from his own kingdom
“Death for the king” shouted women and men
Yet they wouldn’t leave this valley so green for like
Heaven it looked, like heaven it felt
Oh, how could they dwell far away from this bliss

The soldiers of the king were afraid of their master
They feared for their lives, for their wives and their children
They did not dare disobey the king’s orders
For cruelly did he punish any attempt of rebellion

Late at night, the villagers met
They wanted rebellion, they wanted a new king
Young men had swords, lumberjacks axes
Old men had anger but the castle was too strong

A shameless king reigned on the valley
He lived of his lust of his hunger for sin
In his castle he did feast on the spoils of his wars
On his throne he rejoiced for the gold he did steal

“Shameless king
your time will come
Shameless king
your time will come” chanted the crowd

A shameless king reigned on the valley
He lived of his lust of his hunger for sin
In his castle he did feast on the spoils of his wars
On his throne he rejoiced for the gold he did steal

“Shameless king
your time will come
Shameless king
your time will come” chanted the crowd

2. MAGNAROTH THE EVIL LORD

Magnaroth
Magnaroth
Magnaroth
Magnaroth

Fear, the evil lord is coming
Fear, the evil lord will fly down

Magnaroth
Magnaroth

Magnaroth, the evil lord
Comes to burn down your homes
Magnaroth, the evil lord
Leads his army to take your land

Winds rise, black clouds
Come in from every side
Ice cold, black crows and
Shadows fly in

Dark is the enemy
Dark is his throne
Blood he will spill on the
Ground with his sword

Light fades and night comes
As foul creatures creep in
Fear grows in all men
A cruel spell rules the land

Dark is the enemy
Dark is his throne
Blood he will spill on the
Ground with his sword

Magnaroth cries from his
Horse aloud:
“Defeated, all ye will
Drown in your blood

My sword will bring
Destruction and sorrow
Don’t pray for your lives
Pray for your souls”

Magnaroth
Magnaroth

Magnaroth, the evil lord
Comes to burn down your homes
Magnaroth, the evil lord
Leads his army to take your land

Magnaroth
Magnaroth

Magnaroth, the evil lord
Comes to burn down your homes
Magnaroth, the evil lord
Leads his army to take your land

A mighty sorcerer
Raises his staff
Lothar’s power will
Bring endless winter

Dark is the enemy
Dark is his sorcerer
Armies were crushed on the
Ground by their power

Magnaroth’s life is
Bound to his sorcerer
Dark magic fends off the
Enemy’s sword and arrows

Dark is the enemy
Dark is his sorcerer
Armies were crushed on the
Ground by their power

3. FOUL TREACHERY (FIRST BETRAYAL)

Can you run, can you hide
Can you run, can you ride

The king and his men, have retreated in the castle
The king and his men, have fled from the battle
The king and his men, have retreated from the city walls
The king and his men, have fled like cowards

Cowards (x4)

Foul treachery leads the battle
Into slaughter, under the castle
The king and his men retreat from the battle
They hide like cowards, hide like traitors

Fear of rebellion, fear of his people
The king has grown fearful of his own kingdom
Fear of his army, fear of the sunlight
Fear of the storm that comes to wipe him out

But he knows he can not fight, he knows
He can not win against the people grown angry
Thus, he knows he can not trust, his own men
To take out, the young men planning rebellion

Aaaah, aaaah
Aaaah, he will let Magnaroth do the slaughter
Aaaah, thus the king does the first betrayal

The king and his men, have retreated in the castle
The king and his men, have fled from the battle
The king and his men, have retreated from the city walls
The king and his men, have fled like cowards

Foul treachery leads the battle
Into slaughter, under the castle
The king and his men retreat from the battle
They hide like cowards, hide like traitors

Late at night, the king meets Magnaroth
One wants power, one wants plunder
The king makes the oath not to protect
The lord makes his own, not to spare men

One gets protection against a rebellion
One gets to plunder without a fight
The traitor retreats to his castle in secret
The lord leads his army to the slaughter

Aaaah, aaaah
Aaaah, he will let Magnaroth do the slaughter
Aaaah, thus the king does the first betrayal

Aaaah, aaaah
Aaaah, he will let Magnaroth do the slaughter
Aaaah, thus the king does the first betrayal

The king and his men, have retreated in the castle
The king and his men, have fled from the battle
The king and his men, have retreated from the city walls
The king and his men, have fled like cowards

Foul treachery leads the battle
Into slaughter, under the castle
The king and his men retreat from the battle
They hide like cowards, hide like traitors

4. THE YOUNG MESSENGER

“Gone is the hope for the
Son who knows his
Father betrayed him
For he was afraid

Gone is the hope for the
Daughter who sees her own
Mother forsake her
Down in the abyss”

Sadly sings the bard as the
Snow softly falls down and
Hides the blood stains on the
White carpet all around

Grief and sorrow, tears will follow
Hate and revenge flow through young men
Lights and shadows play together
In the windows of the castle

Outside the town all the
People did run and they
Took refuge in the
Forest to hide away

Around a fire old
Men warm their cold limbs
Sore from the flight in the
Deep snow and cold storm

They have lost their house and friends
Who they loved fell to hands of fiends
Yet hope lives
They are cold and tired yet
Anger keeps their blood warm
Yes, hope lives on

Long do the elders talk
Long do the young man curse the
King and his men for their
Cowardice and loathsome treason

Guessing the king’s foul plans the elders
Choose one young brave man and after
Saddling a white horse they sent him to
Ask for help in the neighbouring lands

Swift and silent rides the young man
Softly thump the hooves of the white horse on the thick snow
Cold wind blows his blond hair moonlight shines his fair Eyes
Lothar’s power senses him, but he rides on secret paths

They have lost their house and friends
Who they loved fell to hands of fiends
Yet hope lives
They are cold and tired yet
Anger keeps their blood warm
Yes, hope lives on

“Gone is the hope for the
Son who knows his
Father betrayed him
For he was afraid

Now our hope is gone riding
Swiftly on a white horse and
Wearing no sword at his side
Farewell”

5. THE KING'S DEATH (SECOND BETRAYAL)

Beware, king, your enemy
Beware Magnaroth

Traitor, liar
You will meet your destiny
Pray
That it might not be too cruel

Treachery again, this game of betrayal
Was started by your hand
Evil will fall, but first you will die
By your own sword

More power you wanted and death you will find
Call it punishment divine
Cruel was your reign, now cold is the land
So much sin by your hand

Traitor, liar
You will meet your destiny
Pray
That it might not be too cruel

For the evil lord has got you
In his fist
Cruel for if he spares you
Your own men will not

Cruel for all the blood that you spilled
Through your foul treason
Cruel for all the lies that you
Fed to your own children

Pray for your soul
Pray the almighty
Pray for salvation
Beg for mercy

Now is too late to run
Now is too late to hide
Now is too late my son
Now is too late to fight

Treachery again, this game of betrayal
Was started by your hand
Evil will fall, but first you will die
By your own sword

More power you wanted and death you will find
Call it punishment divine
Cruel was your reign, now cold is the land
So much sin by your hand

Traitor, liar
You will meet your destiny
Pray
That it might not be too cruel

For the evil lord has got you
In his fist
Cruel for if he spares you
Your own men will not

Too late, the evil lord is coming
How could you trust a liar?
Too late, the evil lord is
Marching towards you

Your men are now bound by a
Spell to serve your enemy
They will soon come to
Execute their own king

Now is too late to run
Now is too late to hide
Now is too late my son
Now is too late to fight

Treachery again, this game of betrayal
Was started by your hand
Evil will fall, but first you will die
By your own sword

More power you wanted and death you will find
Call it punishment divine
Cruel was your reign, now cold is the land
So much sin by your hand

Traitor, liar
You will meet your destiny
Pray
That it might not be too cruel
For the evil lord has got you
In his fist
Cruel for if he spares you
Your own men will not

Thus ends your selfish life
Thus ends your reign
Thus you pay for your deeds
And high you pay the price

Magnaroth’s time will come too
Though he sits now on your throne
Your men will obey his orders
As long as the spell’s not broken

Traitor, liar
You will meet your destiny
Pray
That it might not be too cruel

Traitor, liar
You will meet your destiny
Pray
That it might not be too cruel

6. THE FROZEN VALLEY

Adflictio
Passio
Discordia
Insidia
Virtus
Animus
Gloria
Laetitia

Great is the pain
That resides in our hearts
It shall burn forever
In our souls, burn our glory

Snow is now falling
Down on the city ruins
All is frozen, all is enslaved
Through Lothar’s power
Everyone’s prisoner of the dark lord

Frozen are all the trees, their leaves are gone
They now stand still, like dead, they can’t dance
Into the warm wind that used to blow
On summer nights long ago

Frozen are all the rivers and all the streams
That used to flow singing their melodies and their life
Out through the fields
And through all the woods and hills

Frozen is now the valley
All life is gone but our own
We are enslaved to serve a master
Even more cruel than our king, now slain

Strong has now grown
Our thirst for revenge
We will not rest nor retreat
Until defeat takes down Magnaroth

There are no chains, yet we are enslaved
We can’t lift our swords nor bend our bows
Our hands are like frozen, our limbs cold like stone
Iced is the valley yet boiling is our blood

There is no prophecy, there is no sign
There is no promise that we shall survive
Yet there is life, still there is light
There is hope in our hearts

There is no prophecy, there is no sign
But there is a promise to save our souls
Long shall we fight when our strength shall be back
We shall win or die, we don’t care anymore

Frozen are all the rivers and all the streams
That used to flow singing their melodies and their life
Out through the fields
And through all the woods and hills

Frozen is now the valley
All life is gone but our own
We are enslaved to serve a master
Even more cruel than our king, now slain

Strong has now grown
Our thirst for revenge
We will not rest nor retreat
Until defeat takes down Magnaroth

7. THE DUEL (THIRD BETRAYAL)

Sunlight again, the sunrise beyond
The hills of our cage, along blows a horn

Rise, take your sword
Rise, show you’re brave
Rise, keep your word
Rise, to meet Eberulf

Coldly bites the steel
Into the flesh of our enemy
Boldly we fight along the bird lord
Fight to gain back our lost lands

There’s no magic in our hands
There’s no spell above our heads
Vengeance lights the fire in us
Hope hides the fear and pain

Eberulf the bird lord came to save us
Came to claim back the frozen valley
He and his army know not fear
They know not pain, nor know defeat

Magnaroth leaves his throne in rage
Clothes his armour and takes his mace
Rides his black horse to the battle
Cries aloud to his challenger

“Why come here defy me
Don’t you know what’s agony
Thousands men died to my mace
And thousands more shall I now slay”

Rise, take your sword
Rise, show you’re brave
Rise, keep your word
Rise, to meet Eberulf

Boldly the two lords face each other
On the battlefield
The Dark Lord fears not death
Since Lothar’s spells shield him from harm

Bird lord knows not fear
Though small is the hope for him
Sharp is his sword
Sharp his sight, skilled his fighting

Eberulf the bird lord came to save us
Came to claim back the frozen valley
He and his army know not fear
They know not pain, nor know defeat

Treacherously Lothar moves his spells
Magnaroth’s magic shield shatters into splinters
The bird lord’s armour shines with a new light
As Lothar’s spells make him invincible

Eberulf’s sword like bolt flies down
Defeated Magnaroth cries one last time:
“Traitor, cursed be thy name
not one day shall thou rest from pain”

Rise, take your sword
Rise, show you’re brave
Rise, keep your word
Rise, to meet Eberulf

8. THE MAGICIAN AND THE SORCERER

Magnaroth’s defeated
Gone is the dark lord
His army now scattered
Turns to its new master

Lothar got rid of his ally for power
For too strong was he to be taken out alone
Now that the Sorcerer is ruling the army
He can remove his spells on Eberulf’s armour

Lothar, puzzled, looks on Eberulf
His magic is strong, yet he can’t remove the spells

(Eberulf)
“Do you believe, that you’re the only one
Who can harness magic using a staff
Yet, we’re not equal, your power’s darkness
My power’s light, forged in Ingur”

(Lothar)
“Your power’s nothing compared to my own
I can take down mountains or make lakes from valleys
Vainly you challenge my army of warriors
Your men are farmers or young men too weak to fight”

(Eberulf)
“Your words don’t scare me, you’re a traitor and sorcerer
Your lord would have killed me but for your hunger for more
Long is your staff and all black is your cloak
But if you have such power come now and show it to me”

Strong is their power
Long will be their fight

Magnaroth’s defeated
Gone is the dark lord
His army now scattered
Turns to its new master

Lothar got rid of his ally for power
For too strong was he to be taken out alone
Now that the sorcerer is ruling the army
He can remove his spells on Eberulf’s armour

Lothar, puzzled, looks on Eberulf
His magic is strong, yet he can’t remove the spells

Lothar rides his black horse onto the battlefield
Drawing his sword, and holding his staff
Eberulf rides his white horse, his armour shining
And his blue shield bearing the arms of his family

(Lothar)
“Why should we fight, throw away your life
We could join our strength, become invincible
You could be much more than just the bird lord
None would oppose us, everyone would fear our name”

(Eberulf)
“I don’t want to fight you but least want to join you
For cruel is your mind, distorted and blind
The bird is the symbol of freedom and grace
But you are the slave of your own lust and greed”

Strong is their power
Long will be their fight

(Lothar)
“That settles it, I tried you to reason
But stubborn you are, and stubborn you’ll die
Sharp is my blade, and long is my staff
You said it yourself, now come here and fight”

(Eberulf)
“Your sight is failing you, did you forget
That you cast on my armour spells you cannot remove
Sharp is my blade too, and strong is my shield
Skilled is my hand, so move on and dare fight me”

Strong are their powers and mighty their armours
Their swords hit in vain and their magic can’t slay
Blunt turn their blades as they hammer each other
The ground shakes like thunder and echoes in mountains

Strong is their power
Long will be their fight

9. LOTHAR'S DECEIT

Rise him to the throne
Rise him to command
Crown his head and hail
Crown his head then bow
Long live the new king
Long hail the new king

Glory, power in fight
Glory power and life

Hiding, the sorcerer is growing his strength
All thoughts are together his mind is set
His spirit is focused on one goal to reach
Turn the king’s sword against its holder
Turn the king’s sword into fire

Dark is his power he lies down in pain
Spent are his forces and spent is his mind
Take down the king and grant himself control
Turn the king’s sword
Against the one who holds its sheath

Cold blood flows in Lothar’s veins
Cast is his spell on the one who wears the crown
Cold blood flows in Lothar’s veins
Cast is his spell on the one who wears the crown

Right to live or right to die,
Lothar fears nothing
He fears no judgement
Lust is his friend, lies, his bread
Deceit, his water, pain, his bed
Turn the king’s sword against its holder
Turn the king’s sword into fire

But he is blind to the wisdom of Eberulf
For the bird lord did not crown his own head
He chose the young messenger as new king
Glory power in fight
Glory power and life

No pride shines in the youth’s eyes
As he’s crowned
No lust rings in his words
As he salutes the crowd

No malice is felt
As he makes the oath to rule
No sword hangs at his side
Not once did he fight

Cold blood flows in Lothar’s veins
Cast is his spell on the one who wears the crown
Cold blood flows in Lothar’s veins
Cast is his spell on the one who wears the crown

Right to live or right to die,
Lothar fears nothing
He fears no judgement
Lust is his friend, lies, his bread
Deceit, his water, pain, his bed
Turn the king’s sword against its holder
Turn the king’s sword into fire

Deceived, the sorcerer’s spells break into void
Never did he think Eberulf wouldn’t take the crown
Never did he believe the king would be pure
Glory power in fight
Glory power and life

Spent, his forces, his mind, his soul
Darkness takes over and leads him astray
Banned he is by Eberulf’s sword
Off the land and onto the ocean

Never to come back…

10. A NEW KING

A new king has come, raise your voice and sing
Bend your knee and bow for your king
A new life begins, the frozen winter’s dead
The valley lives again, praise your king

Praise your king
Praise your king

Never did his hand spill blood
Never did he lust
Never did his words confuse
Never did he lie

Behold his beauty, behold his might
Behold his wisdom, and praise
Praise his courage, praise his righteousness
Bend your knee and bow low

Raise your voice and sing, raise your cup and praise
The new ruler of the valley
Lift your hands and greet, lift your spirits
For a new king now reigns, praise

Evil has been burning our land
Evil has been defeated and banned

Don’t forget to thank the one who gave us life
Who gave us hope again
Don’t forget to praise the one whose mercy
Saved all our lives

A new king has come, raise your voice and sing
Bend your knee and bow for your king
A new life begins, the frozen winter’s dead
The valley lives again, praise your king

Praise your king
Praise your king

Eberulf offered his life
Offered his sword, his army
Such compassion and such love
For the villains we are

Take your lute and sing, take your maid to dance
Raise your voice to greet your king
Peace is yours once more, toil the earth and sow
When your king comes by, greet him

Leave your fears behind, horrors of the fight
Honour fallen ones in your heart
Take your sins away, cleanse your hands and soul
Kneel and pray to thank for life

Evil has been burning our land
Evil has been defeated and banned

Evil has been burning our land
Evil has been defeated and banned

A new king has come, raise your voice and sing
Bend your knee and bow for your king
A new life begins, the frozen winter’s dead
The valley lives again, praise your king

Praise your king
Praise your king

11. THE MINSTREL'S LAMENT

Gone is the light that used to shine
She was taken, never to come back
Her star will, shine on me tonight

Cold I have found her laying on the ground
Her face so fair, with her hair spread around
Even all the roses, have withered from their sorrow

I carried her back to our home
Underneath our garden she now lays at rest
But her soul, is now gone since long

I will not cry anymore tonight
All the land’s in joy, so why should I grieve
I can hear them feast, they rejoice their lives are safe

Oh how I wish I had died in her stead
Or that we had, passed away together
No place for regrets, she is gone and I’m here

One day we’ll meet again then I will sing to her
The one song she liked to hear me sing
Then she will smile again I will take her hand
Anew we will walk the path of love

Fresh like a gushing spring young like a new morning
I will grasp her in my arms
Back to the days when she was born by my own hands
She will be my only love again

Tonight I will sing tomorrow I will walk
I will return, to my life of roving
Villages and castles, will hear about my grief

Thus ends the story of the frozen valley
Some will be remembered, for their valour and their might
Some will be forgotten, but to the eyes of their father
