A shattered mirror
In the light of dawn
Blood and sweat
The shades are drawn

The wind is still
As I walk on the grass
Into the darkened pit
Of sorrow never passed

I hear the words
The ones she said to me
An endless pit of pain
Her voice of sanctity

Between the light of dawn
In the heart of the forest
Spirits linger in the river
Content to ignore us

These foolish ways continue
As I beat the burning path
Finding solace in the river
Into forests, mist and grass

Raging from the soul
In a burning bush of light
Left unseen after years
With absolutely no respite

Repairing rotted souls
The task of her embrace
In a flash of my birth
Longing for this ancient place

The journey never ends
As I walk into the night
Reaching for her hand
To feel the warm sunlight

Darkness is eternal;
Help me destroy her pain
In this everlasting tomb
Frozen in the misty rain

Hoping for the light
Treading overgrown paths
Seeing her eyes in the trees
Hear her voice as I pass


2. SCARS OF A STAGNANT BREEZE

The sweat upon my brow
The darkness of the night
There was a time I held you
Now gone into the light

Off in the distant woods
The air begins to chill
Walking into the water
Your voice grows ever shrill

A ghostly hand of mist
Resting on the pond
My chest submerged in water
I try to move on

Sinking in the mud
The humid air of night
Gently drifting by
The sorrow and the spite

Water slowly dripping
On the midnight forest grass
Rowing to the lake
Returning to the past
