2. LAST TO SUCCUMB

Here in the land of upheaval and ash
My path is crumbling to dust
The fires of toxic flesh eating my soul
yet their soothing hiss leaves me aghast

My future's dead like my father's before
My thoughts wild course in dismay
Suddenly she was there through fire and mist
Radiant in white, beckoning me

3. THE TRAIL OF NOTES

I felt in my dream
the gentle embrace of sounds
laughing, crying, mocking, dying

impressed by the force
of the siren-like wailing
guiding me through parts unknown

I stumbled upon a forest of pines

Nightmares grow
like fireworks in the sky

Monsters marching

when just the crying won't suffice
The children beg for something more
