1. DIVINATION

(Instrumental)

2. LEGATA

Corrupt with hedonistic greed
Man is left astray.
The fools,
With out-stretched hands,
They are the manifold,
They are the prisoners,
Who unknowingly,
Seek salvation.

Pulsing cage,
The womb,
The genesis,
The prison we claim

As it grows decrepit
It is renewed.
A foul circular motion
Of horrid flesh.

Rise,
Crush,
Purge the self of the malignant!

We,
Must,
Destroy the tumor called flesh!

The iron made maiden,
With her promises of lust.
Like the flies of Venus.
Mankind is crushed.

From the womb whence we came,
We return.
Like the phoenix cloaked in flame,
From the ashes we are born.

Immortal,
The sick fools are pleased.
Comforted,
That they are not free.
Ignorant,
They will never,
Be set,
Free.

Corrupt with hedonistic greed
Man is left astray.
The fools,
With out-stretched hands,
They are the manifold,
They are the prisoners,
Who unknowingly,
Seek salvation.

3. TEMPEST

We fell so far
And on the way,
Shared drinks with porcelain smiles.

We drifted down the coast,
In shapeless repose-
Sat like putrefying meat,
And sketched better days on pages filled with notes.

Mingled, like oil and water-
Seagulls on the slick,
We remarked on the artifice of waking up.

So days washed in,
Days washed out,
On tides of broken change-

We fell so far-
With waxy wings,
And dreams we'd made of glass.
We fell for aching, crawling years-

Indulged in drinks and doctor's cures,
And voices of automatons-
How fatal an endeavor.

Now bloated in the sea,
We float like ships on the horizon.

Soon the sun shall fall...
And meat us here.

4. CRIMSON WATER

The blood is hot and thick,
Temperamental.
It soaks the cuffs and crawls beneath the fingernails-

To whom do you belong?

The blood that stains your hands and will not
Depart,
It is your own.
It is cast off with every gesture.
It marks all things that you hold.
It mingles with every smokey, fleeting thought.

You wear your laurels,
You wear your shackles,
In the blood that soaks your hands.

From the infant,
Clad in white gowns,
Drips the crimson water,
The inescapable, incontrovertible humor-

It is neither savior,
Nor destroyer,
Only Master.

5. PLAGUE BRINGER

Not a thing so uncertain
As what lie beyond the milky, shapeless curtain
Like a bride’s fluid, silken wedding veil.
It shrouds the bashful dawdling future’s countenance
As I struggle to advance
Through restless nights in one-night, cheap affairs,
And drunken stumblings up winding stairs-
A naive eternity of solitude,
Sung to me in platitudes
But now I see the overwhelming answer...
Oh do not ask what it is?
I shall seize it, should the mist permit.

In the room the women come and go,
But you lingered like the snow.

Because when we met, the icicles hung like canine teeth
From shuddering branches and frost-painted wreaths,
And the great crystalline dunes moved like serpents,
Blown on gusts of winters advent.
I did not know; I did not know the comp’ny the blizzard Brought,
But as fate would have it she had eyes like ticking clocks-
I count my hours on them.
That auspicious December afternoon I met...
An enticing, copper-colored fox,
And now I see the overwhelming answer.

Perhaps there will be time...
Again to wonder
O’er barren, frost bitten planes,
Beneath the celestial diamond mines-
Hand in hand and steps in time.
Perhaps there will be time to play frivolous games,

Stare into forbidden, Jazz-blue eyes,
Speak words I speak in dreams,
And rest my aching head upon your thighs.
Perhaps I may know bliss then-
No manufactured bliss, blind and ignorant,
But a bliss to test passion’s patience
A bliss beyond the fog.

In the room the women come and go,
But you lingered like the snow.
And perhaps there will be a time
When I needn’t wonder, ‘Do I dare?’
When I may pet you lustrous, perfumed hair
And they will enviously say: ‘How he loves her so!’
A love born ‘neath the tempestuous, drifting snows,
An inconvenient, glorious love.

Thus I have dared...
To disturb the Universe,
It’s curious order
Because I think there’s something about us anyway
