With everything that you put me through
I'm surprised to say that I made it out alive
You left me stranded
Crushed by the weight of desertion

I pried open my eyes
And I forced myself to realize

Back turned
No way out

So I swam

I pulled myself out of this hole
Make do and mend
I'd take control
