Le groupe de Jazz Metal norvégien Shining vient de dévoiler un premier titre issu de son nouvel album Animal à paraître le 19 octobre prochain chez Spinefarm Records. Le morceau éponyme dévoilé témoigne de la nouvelle orientation musicale du groupe : exit le saxophone et le "Blackjazz" qui a fait leur renommée. Le frontman Jorgen Munkeby explique :
"I was tired of doing the same thing. I was done with ‘Blackjazz’ and wanted to create something new and exciting. I needed a change. I’m finally at the point where I have nothing to lose and everything to win. We had 360 degrees to play with so we could’ve gone in any direction. This new record is more Muse than Meshuggah, more Ghost than Gojira, and more Biffy Clyro than Burzum!”

On est très loin de I won't forget mais je trouve ça toujours aussi cool !
Bof bof, surtout le coup du " wanted to create something new and exciting ", c'est pas très novateur ce qu'il nous font là, c'est même assez standard et ennuyant (car déjà entendu 150 fois ce genre de morceau).
Je n'ai jamais accroché avec le style de ce groupe.
Je pense qu'il est temps de faire du changement comme l'a dit Jorgen Munkeby, histoire de voir le potentiel encore inconnu à ce jour du groupe.
En tout cas, le titre à l'écoute est pas mal foutu pour 1 avant gout.
