Section3B is a progressive hard rock project with musicians based in Norway and New Zealand. Their music is described as modern hard rock with musical elements stolen from progressive rock and goth metal.

The project was initiated in Oslo, Norway 1999 by guitarist Yme Kvistedal and bass player Ingar Sommerud. The outcome of one year of rehearsals was at this stage recorded with the help of Andreas Rod on organ, before the project was suspended when both decided to relocate to different pacific islands for the purpose of university studies.

In 2005 Section3B was revived in Auckland, New Zealand, when drummer Mark Rees and flute player Stijn te Strake were recruited. The original recordings were at this stage completed and a large amount of new material recorded. The release date for the album has not yet been set, but sometime towards the end of 2006 seems probable.
