Biographie : Poverty

Poverty was formed in 1989 by four individuals in the San Francisco Bay Area. Scott Dodge (guitar), Lou Gilberto (bass), and two former members of infernal forces. After a couple of demo tapes, and several successful shows at numerous bay area locations, Poverty changed it's line-up in 1991 with the addition of infamous drummer Buddy Mills (insanity). The band now consisted of Scott, Lou and Bud which stills holds today. With the addition of Bud Mills to the act, the entire band focused to a more vicious and faster attack which was the goal from the start. After playing years of shows and parties, Poverty finally released an 8 song demo entitled "Poverty Sucks" in 1998. After it's release, the band was put on hold for a few years only to eventually have the entire line up of Poverty join the death metal band "Insanity". After recording an impressive album with the group, Insanity, once again was brought to a halt due to one members emotional problems. So... 3/4 of the "Insanity" left to reform "Poverty" in 2001. With the release of the Global Destruction EP in Dec 2003, live performances around the bay area are in the works. The EP has received some impressive reviews, and the band will definately be a driving force in extreme old-school death metal music for years to come.
