YEAR 1997...

Farewell was founded...

Original founding members:
Juha Härkin, V. Heikki Matero, Esa-Mikko Lappalainen, Juho-Pekka Lappalainen, Otto Aminoff

Farewell played their first few years only cover songs from bands like Iron Maiden, Offspring, AC/DC, Motörhead, Pantera and Guns n' Roses etc.


YEAR 1999...

Farewell changed their vocalist when Juha Härkin moved aside and Markus Makkonen joined the crew... At the same year Farewell started to write their own songs.


YEAR 2000...

Farewell released their first demo called "Community of the wicked"... Which got surprisingly good reception in the crowd.

After first demo, Farewell started to gather more and more reputation as a very good live band.


YEAR 2002...

In the Spring Farewell started to record their first (self-release) full lenght CD titled "Cold Autumn Ride", which they released later in the autumn.

Otto Aminoff moved aside and Toni Balk joined the band.


YEAR 2003...

Farewell is writing new songs for the upcoming album, which should be released at winter 2004.


YEAR 2004...

Farewell is beginning to record their next album "On One Card" during the winter. It was done and released in the end of may.

2004 saw also a release of second single called "Down With The Damned".

Towards the end of the year Farewell played first International tour with Irish metallers Madra. Three date tour in Ireland consisted of gigs in Derry, Dublin and Belfast.




YEAR 2005...

In January Farewell will tour with Madra again. This time in Finland. After the tour J-P will start his mandatory military service.

Farewell will continue working with new songs and tricks still.

YEAR 2006...

Farewell spent early 2006 rehearsing and recording for a new album. Album got a name "Do You Think You Know Me?" and it will be a whole new chapter for this almost a decade old institution.. Tour and new stories will follow....
