Everything started in a distant 2001, when Roman Smirnov (bass) and Vladimir Karman (guitar) became friends. That summer a demonstration record (of a dreadful quality) was made at PC, it consisted of 7 doom/death metal songs composed by Vladimir. And the decision was to name the band Insight. But then the ways of the musicians went different directions and the songs were left on the hard disc.
In autumn of 2003 after visiting a gig Roman decides that the stuff shouldn't stay without a care and he makes a decision of creating a band. After negotiations with Vladimir the direction was taken. Among their friends there wasn't any musician, so the searching continued in internet. Soon came the result- Roman Kulikov, a drummer (ex-Shehine) was found. After small negotiations he decides to join the band. Other members were very glad, because they had considered finding a drummer a big problem. Then comes his acquaintance, Dmitriy Daim Maryashin (guitar, ex-Shehine). A keyboard player and a vocalist are still needed. One of the notices placed in the net receives an answer from Vyatcheslav Kazakov, who had played bass in such bands as Templum Slavus, Sinful, Pavor Nocturnes, Thunderstorm. As a keyboard player still wasn't found the band made a decision to start rehearsals without a one.
2004, February. The first rehearsal of the band. The musicians started to make two songs. And at once they realized that the stuff is quite dry and it needs a principal development. For several months the band plays three songs at rehearsals, every time in a different way. Eventually the primal themes have absolutely changed.
Meanwhile a keyboarder was still needed. Several candidates were tested but a suitable one hasn't been found. Eventually Vyatcheslav introduces the band with a keyboarder of one of his projects, and in June'2004 Ekaterina Karapetyan occupies her place in the band as a keyboard player. Instantly the songs of the band obtain all that missing atmosphere and melodiousness.
Thus the band plays till November'2004, when the drummer decides to leave it. A drum-machine is used till January'2005, when a new drummer has been found- Dmitriy Ptyutch Kulikov.
In summer'2005 there was made a decision to look for female vocals, and in September such person was found- Yevgeniya Chernova.
September'2005 is a turning point in the band's life. A song My Desire was recorded at the Navahohut studio and then it was included into a Doom-art compilation 2005. It got positive reports from the audience. Also in September both drummer and vocalist left the band, so the missing members were needed again. Yevgeniya took her acquainted drummer to a rehearsal in October. At once he plays two songs almost without mistakes and that astonishes the musicians. Thus Dmitriy Kupchin joins the band.
A vocalist was found in November, and the place by a microphone was occupied by Spartak Glovatskiy. At a short time he has written the lyrics to all songs that had existed by that moment, so the band started to rehearse with the new power, preparing for the first gig.
In March'2006 the band lost Evgeniya, but very soon her place was occupied by Nina Ninako Kuzmina.
A debut gig took place in R-Club on April, 2'2006, and got a very good estimation from the audience. After that the band plays at several gigs in April and May and makes an interval for a summer period.
July'2006. The band makes a decision to start recording a full-length album and to change the name. After looking through different variants the musicians choose the most suitable one. Henceforth the band is called Elnordia.
