Biographie : Demonizer

The beginning of the year 2001, four maniacs decided to start an old-school thrash band. Clitsucker (guitars), Vrondor (guitars), Peetn (drums) and PoserSlasher (vocals) started rehearsing.

So they started with writing some songs. Two songs were written (´Execution of a christian´ and ´Peetn, the maniac´). But things didn't really work out. So on a day Clitsucker was rehearsing with Hennix on drums to start an extreme black metal band. Instead of forming this band Hennix was asked to join Demonizer and so he did in june 2001. Now a bassplayer had to be found, so they asked Sammath to join ´em. After a while Sammath sang as well.
Demonizer was born!!!!

So with the four of them they started to rehearse. The first two songs went great and they sounded a lot faster and tighter in the new line-up. The second song also changed into ´Human Disease´. They also added some black metal since it now was possible to play fast(er).

A try-out gig on nov the 2th 2001 went better than hoped for…

Due to a shouldercomplaint Sammath had to lay down his bass for a while and Demonizer searched for a bassplayer. Athanor was found and joined the band at the beginning of 2002. And so Demonizer became a band with five members!!

Some gigs were played with bands as Houwitser, Enthroned, Occult, Double Diamond, Infernal Legion, Nargaroth, Aborted, Ancient, Panchrysia, Thus Defiled, Putrid Inbred and others.

- Recording of "Thrashing Force...Attack!!!" -

After the creation of ten songs, Demonizer entered the studio in December 2002 to record their first full length album. This was recorded in ´Second Test´ studio. On may the 18th Demonizer presented it's album "Thrashing Force...Attack!!" on a gig with Gospel of the Horns, In Aeternum and Razor of Occam. "Thrashing Force...Attack!!" got very positive reviews in important zines as MindView (B, 5/7) and Aardschok (Nl, 84/100).

In june of 2003 Demonizer played it's first gig abroad. This was in the well known Camden Underworld in London, England with bands as Gorerotted, Killing Mode and more.

- Line up changes -

Because of an infection on his wrist Clitsucker had to lay down his guitar. Nerclath joined Demonizer as a permant member in September of 2003. Nerclath played his first gigs with Demonizer in Essen (Germany) and Tilburg (Holland) in mid October.

Yet two months later (beginning of December) Demonizer had to make another change in the line-up. Because of different problems Sammath was kicked out of the band and Demonizer decided to continue as a four member band as Athanor and Hennix took over the singing.

Demonizer successfully played in the famous Baroeg (Holland) one day after they kicked out Sammath and did a Dutch mini tour mid december. The last day of this mini tour they played in Tilburg (013), Holland on the Xmass festival with bands as Deicide and Destruction. The mini tour (together with Flesh Made Sin) was a big suc666!!

Several gigs were played in the beginning of 2004. They invaded Portugal in april and in the beginning of may Demonizer again went to England to perform two shows (London & Coventry) together with their brothers in war Infernal Legion. At the end of may Demonizer played on the open air festival United Metal Maniacs in Germany with Nocturnal Breed ao. Some other gigs were played and Demonizer played at the underground open air festival Kleudde.

- Recording the second album -

With 8 new hymns ready, Demonizer entered the ShumCot Soundlab in September to record their second attack. The new songs were more mature, more aggressive and were the proof of the band's hard work.

- Mini-tour with cult thrashers Nocturnal Breed -

After the recording of the album, Demonizer hit the road at the end of October together with thrash legend Nocturnal Breed from Norway for a five day mini-tour. All dates were a success and again the name of the WarMachine was spread.

- Demonizer destroys Oslo, Norway -

As the tour was a suc666 for both bands, Nocturnal Breed asked Demonizer over to Norway to perform a special gig. Local radio-promotor and manager Gro Narvestad gave a special goodbye-gig since she stopped her work at the radiostation. On December the 4th Demonizer successfully played in a packed John Dee's (Oslo, Norway) together with Lamented Souls (with Dimmu Borgir and Aura Noir member) and Witchcraft from Sweden. The reactions were amazing!!!! Demonizer met a lot of people and got positive reactions from everybody.

- Finishing the second album -

Back in Belgium they continued the work on the album since there still was some work to be done. Demonizer signed a deal with Painkiller Records and the album will be released around nov/dec 2005.

- Release of "The Essence of War" -
In the beginning of november 2005 Demonizer unleashed their second assault upon mankind . Eight furious tracks assembled on the album "The Essence of War". The first album to be released under contract with a label as Painkiller records has agreed to distribute Demonizer 's second attack! Reviews on this album soon seemed to be mainly possitive and all had eye for the improvement as well in style as in production!
- Another change in line-up -
In december 2005 Demonizer decided to part ways with Nerclath. A new axeman was quickly found. Ulfhednar joined the band and played his first gig three weeks after joining and it all went well!
- Inferno -
On april 13th 2006 Demonizer has joined the bill on the Norwegian Inferno festival!! Together with bands such as Marduk, Emperor, Carpathian Forest they got on stage on this cult indoor festival in Oslo. They played a set that really thrashed the 'John Dee' club and got great reviews from many establisched metal zines!
- Dungeon -
After playing Inferno it got clear that Ulfhednar was not what Demonizer had looked for in a guitarplayer. So they deceided to go on without him and asked Iconoclasm frontman Dungeon if he would be interested to join the Thrashing Force. He agreed to this and they soon found that he was what they were looking for. The first gig with dungeon, in Leeuwarden, went great and the 'afterparty' was heavier than ever before! True Demonizer style!! Later in 2006 Demonizer teamed up with Nocturnal Breed to do nine gigs in several European countries. Just like the first mini tour, this was a great experience with a lot of alcohol-abuse!!
