Autumnal Reaper was founded in 1991 under the name "Raging Death". Under this name the band's first Demo (simply entitled "Raging Death Demo) was released through tapetrading(very common in those days) in 1992. In 1993 the band changed name to Autumnal Reaper and released 3 more Demotapes throughout the nineties; "Studio Demolition 1994", "Studio Demolition 1995"(released together on 1 tape as "Nordavind" demo) and "Studio Demolition 1999". After this the band started working on their first Full-length CD entitled "Of Pure Damnation", which saw the light of day also in 1999. The band received a lot of positive reviews praising their unique atmosphere and shredding hatefull sound. After a live video entitled "The March Of The Reaper Continues", the band released two Mini/Promotional-CD's; "Studio Demolition 2000" and "Studio Demolition 2002". These releases were meant to enhance the band's status in the underground before definately breaking boundaries with their second Full-length CD; "March Of The Reaper". This album was released in 2003 and received a lot of smashing reviews in established magazines such as Aardschok, Rock Hard, Ablaze, Mindview, Metal Hammer etc. Unfortunately there was no reason for celebration.. Autumnal Reaper Guitarist and long-time member Roeland De Haas died(fighting an unfair battle against cancer) before the release of the album; marking the unquestionable lowpoint in the band's history.. Before his death, Roeland insisted on Autumnal Reaper's continuation and so founding member Royy and former Drummer Dennis Wolsink started planning the new cast of characters. Current Drummer Joost and current Lead-Guitarist Vince(both good friends and fans of the band before joining) were recruted in april 2003, soon followed by another friend of the band Rhythm-Guitarist Dave. In this formation(with Royy on Bassguitars and Vocals) the band started rehearsing their asses off so that they could accept the offer to do a small tour through Belgium and The Netherlands. During this tour Waltr was added to the band as Live guest-Vocalist doing vocals alongside with Royy to spice things up a little during the shows. In 2004 the band released a Live-album "Live demolition 2004"(without Waltr's guest Vox) and another Mini/Promotional-CD entitled "AutumnalReaper.com", which was released at the same time of the band's new WebScythe launching. At the end of 2005 Rhythm-Guitarist Dave announced his departure from Autumnal Reaper due to a lack of spare time. We decided to recrute our Live guest-Vocalist Waltr as Rhythm-Guitarist due to his excelent progress as Guitarist in Graven Image. At this very moment Autumnal Reaper have almost finished the writing process for our third Full-length CD entitled;"Autumnal Reaper 3; Rise Of The Raging Death" which will be recorded this year... Brutality guaranteed!!
