Today I have in my player young Russian band with romantic name Viper Inc. They make just first steps on music path, and here is their EP “Waterfall Of Time”, they uploaded it to the Internet so everybody can listen to it and decide, if Viper Inc. is worth attention or not. Six songs of complex style, let’s have a look !

When I told that style is complex I meant that you can’t define it with one term. It’s obvious what Helloween plays, or Children of Bodom, or Iron Maiden, or Dark Funeral. In music of Viper Inc. you’ll hear mix of alternative, nu-metal, melodic death metal and different vocals. But I have to admit that this mix is very natural, not sharp, music smoothly varies and sounds like waterfall because of power of guitar riffs and crashing sounds of amazing vocals. Of course, they have some weak sides and couple of songs are quite boring and especially endless repeating of the same text lines makes songs boring. Of course, recording is not great (but pretty listenable) and production is not perfect, but it’s pretty good for first EP. But in this case, I’d prefer to talk about strong points : I believe that the band is worth it.

They invited some great musicians to help them in work at the EP, and that was a wise step. They did 4 songs in Russian and 2 songs in English, and that was an interesting experiment. They used different kinds of vocals, and that made EP more amazing, especially great female vocal. Viper inc. has beautiful melodies and philosophy lyrics, and I hope that some failures in arrangements musicians will fix in the future. If they could work out such collaboration between different musicians now, it’s clear they make everything just better in the future.
