Well let me start by saying that I find this demo cd absolutely by mistake, surfing on the net. I love to listen goth metal, Moonspell, Lacuna Coil, Sentenced and a few songs of black metal. I was on that bands homepage and I give it a go. And I was pleasantly surprised.

This "strange" group, If I may call them like that, is playing generally black metal, but, I would add, black metal with claviatures that fits there perfectly, giving a black, beautifull atmospher to the demo. I must say that it was a self-produced cd, but I like the sound that they are giving.

Bethroned is relatively unknown band. Thats pitty because this album is very strong.I dont know guitarist real name, drummers etc.

Demo has six songs with good riffs and slow pace mixing with fast on the end. The few songs can be downloaded on their oficial page. I contacted their vocalist for the whole album. I must say that the lyrics are very, very good. From this first few words you could really say that the band is playing with real passion. And that is visible on this work.

The first song called "Thy Moon Whispers My Name" is one of the best songs on the album. Depresive, with strong lyrics and beautifull melody. The vocals are perfect for this song. Screaming, growling and tearing apart. Every word from the singers mouth fits well. The perfect opening for the demo. I really like that one...

The second song, little weaker from the first one and fast paced, is called " Gathering Hordes Of The North Star." I like those riffs, it reminds me on Immortal. But what I dont like is drums. They are monotone and almost you can't hear them. And vocals are still good, especially when chorus comes " I see Valhala's hall, I hear my brothers call..." Still, very nice song. Only drumms are bad and guitar sound is a little bit out of tune.

Third one "Watching the Horizon of Gods" with very strong chorus. The song lenght is 6:09. I only have critque for the intro of the song. Its to long. Nice, catchy riffs but become monotone after 1:30 min of the song. But there is chorus that saves all. " Hailed are the heroes, hailed are the wise.." You can hear claviatures on background and strong vocals. Very good song.

The next one is called "Slavland". The theme of the song is the talk between father and son about life and death and what pride means to the people. Personally, I dislike it. Because of guitars. To harsh, the volume is to high. The melody is nice, like early black metal, but the sound of guitar ruin it all. Vocals are still good and thats the better side of the song. Don't get me wrong, maybe you will like the song, everybody has a different taste.

And the last one, and my second best song is caled
"Shores Of My Home." Beautifull melody is reminding me on Burzum's song " Dunkelheit." Far best lyric on album and far best vocals on album. When I first heard it, it was stuck in my head for days.

I just couldn't believe that this is their first demo.
Ist like they are playing for years. Very well connected and rehearsed. I give the very high rating because this is their first demo and because they do not lack quality. Very good job boys! Very good...
