A few months ago I presented the demo of this band from Jordan which was released back in 2007. Now in 2009 they released their 3 track EP entitled “Moon Serenade”. In these 2 years the band has improved its skills to the point we can say that they have reached a professional level. First of all the sound of the EP is very good and also the singer has improved his vocals and gives us here some very good interpretations of the songs. But let us see this release track by track: The first one is “Moon Serenade” which is a medieval themed ballad that mostly reminds of BLIND GUARDIAN and RHAPSODY, after that comes the metal thunder that hears in the name “Lonely Rider”, a song where RUNNING WILD, STORMWITCH (early) and HAMMERFALL meet and finally the EP closes with the good “Far Beyond the Sky” which has a hard rockin’ vibe. All in all “Moon Serenade” takes DRAGONRIDER a step further and the tracks it includes will definitely enthuse every heavy/power metal fan that has an untamed passion for 80’s heavy metal.
