Alright, people! It's time to get up off of your asses, to stand up to your governments, so that we can get more rights to party, and listen to extreme metal! Ignite the Revolt is the latest rally cry from Vitto and his crew of hell raisers. On this 3rd release, these Italian thrashers have advanced their attack, with the junction of a modern hardcore sound. They've worked on this album for about 4 years and signed with a new label, Serpentine Records.

After the trippy little intro, the music breaks out like a violent gust of tornado winds. It's wild with rabid yelling, lightning fast blast beats, and raw thrashing. Sounding as rowdy as Superjoint Ritual, it usually crosses over into some groovy hardcore rhythms, like that by M.O.D. or even classic S.O.D. . Sometimes the music is spiced up with Sepultura styled one strum, high note suspensions, on the guitars. Occasionally the music shifts to punk influences. Spinning Vultures has catchy punk hooks like Bleeding Kansas and punk styled guitar solos like Black Black. This song gives a charismatic message of rising up to a society that keeps people down. The entire album is fast, heavy, and groovy at the same time.

The vocals of Vitto, sound large, and in charge. He yells With the viciousness of Grant Belsher, from Hurtlocker. The guitar tandem of Cance and Rob, is very versatile. They turn with ease through the styles of thrash, hardcore, punk, groove, and even add a Brazilian touch at times. Cafa plays his bass with the window rattling heaviness of Rex from Pantera and Paulo Jr. from Sepultura. Mitch blasts his drums with the fury of Vinnie Paul.

The chemistry of this quintet combines for a corrosive compound, with the resulting effect of a 34 minute long shower in sulfuric acid. I think that they could have filled it out for another 5 or 10 minutes. But this album seems longer than 34 minutes, because it's so action packed. Although a wide array of influences are detected, Kiju have definitely found a style of their own. Ignite the Revolt is 100% bad attitude and it will have the mosh pits circling to the cyclone of furious anger. This is an excellent choice for rebellious youth.
