an excellent work of art, showcases exactly these elements and what Nocturnal Bloodlust is all about

Nocturnal Bloodlust is essentially a deathcore metal band in a visual kei packaging. A lot of their songs hit all the right spots for me due to the raw energy, the ferocity, the strong emotions, the huge variations in vocals, the artistry, the complex melodies, the awesome guitar works, the unique harmony of multi layers of tunes and the synergy in their songs. This single, an excellent work of art, showcases exactly these elements and what Nocturnal Bloodlust is all about.

The first song, “Scarlet” is an eerie, forbidding, gothic tune welcoming the listener into the dark world of Desperate.

The universe of “Desperate” is soaked in elegant madness, one that the listener cannot resist plunging into and indulge fully in it. There are many elements, like gothic—due to the great amount of classical instruments employed, industrial, deathcore being melded together perfectly to create a grandiose piece of art of horror. The huge amount of variations in the tune transit to each other seamlessly, akin to the various form of emotions invoked in each different sections of the songs. The evil-sounding growls amplify the innate darkness nesting in the heart of the song … perhaps in the listener also. Somehow, there is an impulse to flail one’s arms about wildly when listening to the tune of “Desperate”.

The arm flailing continues with the next song “Liberation”, which is kind of like a celebration of getting out of the darkness and leaping into a party of frenzy. The punk influence in this one works well with the deathcore base, and the part where Hiro sang, “Round, round” over a hypnotic tune just wraps around one’s head to drown oneself into a trance-like state. The chorus has a certain hint of melancholy that draws one in, since the lyrics at that part did talk about not wanting the party to end.

The party ends fast, but there is always an option to hit the "play" button again.
