This is Nefarium’s second full-length record. The transalpine band delivers yet again a new Black Metal onslaught in the vein of Sweden's behemoths lest the ability to capture the attention of the listener. Indeed, after reviewing some fine bands from music label Agonia Records, including Die Hard, Mr. Death or Beissert, this record feels almost dull and uninteresting.

Their first record was considered to be barely average by most Black Metal aficionados. They had taken on the Dark Funeral style, with whom they’ve been intensively touring, brutal Black Metal with your fair share of blast beats but somehow they were only a pale impression of the Swedish icons. In this new release, they've taken this sound over again and added some more Death Metal elements into their music as if they were trying to go "Behemoth" though they clearly fail to achieve something significantly as impressive as the Polish band did making this “conversion” sound a bit forced and unnatural.

I played that record like four times and won’t play it a fifth time for I get bored by it more and more and faster and faster. I may assume that the most hardcore Dark Funeral fans will find some elements to praise in Nefarium's music but not being their biggest fan, I must admit that I fail to see anything relevant. With the countless Black Metal bands out there, there is no doubt that this new record from Italy’s Nefarium will not prove to be a significant milestone even locally.
