This metal alternative band from Cleveland, Ohio, USA, comprises five members of American heritage, Jason Heilinger (vocals), Alan Faulkner (guitar), Michael Demagal (keyboards/programming), Jake Morrow (guitar), Jeff Morrow (drums), and one member of Canadian decent, Andre Fedak (bass). Faulkner, Fedak and Morrow first played together in 2006 as The Devize, revamping the direction when they formed Slave to Nothing February of 2009.

Bringing in Demagal on other projects, they saw a new and vitalizing avenue of musical direction that became the focus of the members. Wanting to capture the new direction, S2N went into Spider Studios (Olmsted Falls, Ohio) where producer/engineer Ben Shigel, responsible for recording acts such as Chimera, Breaking Point and Drowning Pool, recorded their first demo.

The Bands heady fusion of alternative metal, synth sounds and manic brand of post-everything hardcore is augmented by subtle folk and death metal influences, earning them comparisons to contemporary metal bands such as Fear Factory and System of a Down. Their disparate tastes which pulled from all genres of music cultivated a desire to say not all music sounds the same and S2N is a band that evades classification and is much less ordinary. Slave to Nothing’s audible movement is living proof that for those brave enough to snub convention, greatness follows.
