The group as it exists today was formed in July 2011 in Geneva by members having previously taken part in various bands of the local metal scene. The project is part of the meeting of David Moro (guitar - formerly of Forge) and Philippe Suarez (guitar - former member of Amok) in 2009. A number of musicians have contributed to the karma of the band their way sooner or later.
Finally, Yannick Cochain (bass - Sedative member) joined the crew in February 2011, Bastien Piguet (drums - a member of Lost Sphere Project) in April 2011 and Quentin Bocquel (vocals - member of 1Kub & The Wicked Wicked) in July 2011 .
It is not easy to apply COLOSSUS FALL's rich and expanded sound to any existing style, being both brutal and sophisticated at the same time, but rather it is clearly an influence of a number of quite different genres. However, COLOSSUS FALL might be a kind of mix between Mastodon, Keelhaul, Coalesce, Converge and Isis. The constant evolution of the group is felt through each piece composed in different ways. The theme song is also very varied. Have the emotions of the moment that direct inspirations.
The band is currently recording a demo of five songs.
The first concert took place at the Undertown Meyrin / Geneva 11 November 2011 opening for Saviours (USA).
The year 2012 will be the export of COLOSSUS FALL in the rest of Switzerland and Europe. It will also certainly matter to record an album that year.
Le groupe tel qu'il existe aujourd'hui s'est formé en juillet 2011 à Genève par des membres ayant officié auparavant dans diverses formations de la scène métal locale. Le projet est parti de la réunion de David Moro (guitare – ancien membre de Forge) et Philippe Suarez (guitare - ancien membre d'Amok) en 2009. Il n'est pas facile de définir un style précis pour COLOSSUS FALL. Les influences individuelles sont relativement différentes et cela a pour effet de jouer une musique riche et étoffée, pouvant être brutale et raffinée à la fois… Cependant, COLOSSUS FALL pourrait être une sorte de savant mélange entre Mastodon, Keelhaul, Coalesce, Converge et Isis. L'évolution constante du groupe se ressent à travers chaque morceau composé de manière différente. Le thème des chansons est lui aussi très varié. Se sont les émotions du moment qui dirigent les inspirations.
Le groupe est actuellement en train d'enregistrer une démo de cinq morceaux.
Le premier concert a eu lieu à l'Undertown de Meyrin/Genève le 11 novembre 2011 en première partie de Saviours (USA).
L'année 2012 sera celle de l'exportation de COLOSSUS FALL dans le reste de la Suisse et en Europe. Il sera aussi certainement question d'enregistrer un album durant cette année.
