The idea to form the band was born at the end of the year 2000.
After a long and intense time looking around people that were able to be part in this serious project, the group is finally formed in the beginning of 2002 and ready to go on the march.
The first live performance happened on June of 2002 in Arequipa, the natal city of the band, and after some shows in the above mentioned city, CH'ASKA goes out, for the first time, to play out of this one in August of the same year.

On December of 2002 the band had a participation on a contest, that was organized by a local radio station, obtaining as praise the recording of two unpublished songs, due to the participation on the contest is that CH'ASKA obtain in February of 2003 the recording of two tracks: "SWEET LOVER" and "IMPERIO CAIDO", taking part for the first DEMO-CD of the group.
This record allow to the band to play in different places of Peru. CH'ASKA go abroad to play in some cities like Lima, the capital of Peru, one of those festivals or concerts was a CHUCK SCHULDINER TRIBUTE, that was an official event; besides performed on the city of ARICA - CHILE, and then for an invitation for an opening act to SEPULTURA in LA PAZ - BOLIVIA.

In the middle of 2005 CH'ASKA was invited on a local TV program, for co-conducting a special for the band, for this reason the group filmed a home video for the "IMPERIO CAIDO" track, this was made on collage version.
Then CH'ASKA followed playing in Arequipa, having a big acceptance among the people not only from this city, also from other cities from the southern Peru.
Now a days, the band is on the final process of their debut full-length album entitled "Pururauca".
Due to the fast reputation of the band, CH'ASKA gained a lot of adepts in U.S.A., Eastern Europe and Asia. "Ch'aska" is a Quechua word that was used by the INCAS to mention the most shining star in the skies.
This word is especially familiar with the planet VENUS. *Quechua: Ancestral language of the Incas still spoken in the Andean regions of Peru and other countries of South America.
CH'ASKA could be described as a FOLK METAL BAND, because the band mixes Heavy Metal with some folk elements from Peru. (by Renan)
