The musical project Pimeä Metsä (Finnish for Dark Forest) begins in a 2006 December night. Surrounded by beer and friends, the idea of founding a Nordic style Viking/folk metal band grew up strongly. After the original conversation, in February 2007, David (guitarist), Juan (bass player) and Miguel (keyboardist) started playing and composing their first pieces. As thrill and expectations grew up, they felt it was time to look for new colleagues with whom share their exciting adventure. While they try to find new members, Juan had to leave the band due to his studies. During those months, Pimeä Metsä was lucky to have met Great musicians like Vladimir, Dima or Ernesto (bass players), Alex (vocalist) or Domingo and Laura (drummers). The current line-up starts working In July 2008, when Angel Flores arrived to the band as a singer. The same year, in autumn, Hugo Pérez and Pablo Carmona joined Pimeä Metsä, at the guitar and the drums, respectively. Finally, at the end of 2009, Juanto Viana started playing his role at the bass.


During this periode, the founding members of Pimeä Metsä didn’t waste time. They improved their musical skills,composed new tracks and arranged the previous ones. Then (having already joined them Hugo and Pablo) the band made it’s début on the 23rd january 2009 in Silikona (Madrid) for more than 170 people. During this year, Pimeä Metsä gave other four shows with Ernesto as live bass player in two of them, and Antonio (a good friend of David and Miguel) playing the bass guitar in the third one. Finally, Juanto was brought in and gave his first show with them in Live (Madrid).
