The thing about Herman Li is he does so many takes while recording that he makes himself sound perfect, but he can't play on demand, which is why most of their stuff is simplified live, and the stuff that isn't he makes a bunch of mistakes on.
 
Myself, I dunno who I like best but my favorite guitarist, talentwise and as a songwriter, is Jason Becker. A lot of guitarists may be fast as Hell but Jason Becker has some really passionate and emotional songs.

yes you make a good point and i have to agree with you with jimi hendrix. he is one Hell of a guitarist but so isnt slash. there are alot of good guitarist but that is what made them famout.
