i was thinking about this earlier today, personally, i think Kreator's tragically awful period in the 90's was one of the Worst sell-outs of all time, anyone ever listened to the album Outcast? what a total piece of shit that album was
other than that, Slayer's albums Divine Intervention and Undisputed Attitude also would have to be up there on my list of worst sell-out albums of all time

yeah, i've heard terrible things about that one. never actually listened to it before though.
oh, and as far as terrible thrash sell-out albums go: Testament's "The Ritual" has to be way up there with Outcast and Endorama, what the Hell were they thinking when they did that album

Why haven't anyone mentioned metallicas 90's era? Is it because it's too obvious?

You broke the 11th commandment.

11. Thou shalt not mention Metallica from the 90's.

Well, I think some accusations of a band 'selling out' are over-exaggerated. Like Dimmu Borgir. Sure their music sucks nowadays, but I wouldn't call them sell outs. In Flames sold out to the mallcore crowd big-time, especially those emo 'my girlfirend dumped me my life is a black abyss' types. Listen to the song 'Upon an Oaken Throne' (from when they kicked ass) and compare it to 'I'm the Highway' (from their most recent album). You'll see what I mean. For GOD sakes, the band released a music video that looked like a GHETTO RAP video you see on MTV!!! (Touch of Red)

Infinty is right about In Flames. Let's see who we got to bash even harder: Linkin Park, Slipknot, Disturbed? Quite sold out if you ask it to me. they're more pop/rap than something else
