Christ, I'm certainly not a fan of whatever the fuck "emo-metal" is, (mainly when people are talking about this stuff it refers to post-hardcore with slight pop/rock tendencies) but saying stuff like this is also complete bullshit.

First of all, RARELY do any of these bands ever use suicide/murder as a lyrical theme, at least not in the direct sense. When they do bring up a topic like this, it's mostly metaphorical. They do talk about personal issues, it's a frequent topic in any emo music, but they sure as FUCK don't talk about "killing themselves/other people".

Second, even if they do in the slightest sense, legitimate metal bands are Far WORSE with these themes! miniradman already pointed this out, but I'd like to dwell on it a bit more: There's a fucking genre of music called "suicidal black metal" for chrissakes, and you're slagging EMO music for this shit? Here, I'll give you an example, from the (in)famous DSBM band Happy Days:




There's Far more bands that use this approach too, such as Silencer, Abyssic Hate, Make a Change...Kill Yourself, Deep-pression, I could go on for fucking ever.

Oh, and for the killing other people topic: Brutal death metal. 'nuff said.
