Yeah, pretty much. out of all the bands that could have potentially made it big I can't possibly see why they did, they don't really seem to stand out much musically.

their stuff from New American Gospel is amazing, and they have a good groove with their music. it just makes me wanna get up and mosh the shit outta some little kid. also a bonus, they have songs with actually emotional meaning, which isn't blatant like most today's crap Metal-core, instead you have to think about it, and interpret it yourself.

back on topic:

I think alot of people get Tech Death mixed up with Death-core. I have friends who seriously think that Fleshgod Apocalypse is a Death-core band... ah... ignorance. oh well... Also, Technical Death-core is pretty awesome, Iwrestledabearonce, and Circle Of Contempt are my two favorites.

EW.
EW EW EW EWEW.

Technical Deathcore, no. Shitty scene-grindcore bastardization, yes. Borderline one of the worst bands I've ever heard.

In other news, I don't Hate Return From Exile, in fact, they're actually okay. It's american melo-core with somewhat interesting melodies that twiddle and flourish a little.

best song, got me goin a bit:

Well... IWABO doesn't really have a genre... its like everything had an Orgy, (the good and bad) and this is the Mutant baby that created.
i consider them technical death-core.... mainly because they have odd timings, and use alot of scales n shit.

I'd consider them Grindcore, but with every single possible gimmick they could throw into the mix. It's false grind, and that alone should make it subject for Eradication, but it just SOUNDS TERRIBLE. They can't write a riff to save their lives, or a song for that matter.

Seriously.

I can honestly not fathom how somebody can listen to them, nod their heads, and think to themselves, "Yeah, this is the GOOD stuff".

hmmmm?

I don't really consider Iwrestledabearonce a technical Deathcore band, I think they are more experimental grind than anything. Also Iwrestledabearonce isn't a very good example of technical deathcore. Try bands like Mirror Of Dead Faces or A Breath Before Surfacing. Technical, but not unorgainised as say With Blood Comes Cleansing, Animosity or A Night In Texas.

Either way, I'm not a fan of Iwrestledabearonce. I don't even think is experimental because they just sound like they just play whatever, not as a single unit.

i got ya lol, i wouldn't say that i LOVE them, but their cool in their own little way. they really don't have a genre... i guess it would just be infinitely-experimental-noisecore. i bet if they were to pull together as a band, they'd be f*cking amazing. They have talent, just not organization. Krysta can scream like a Beast, Steve and John are excellent guitarist. they just need organization!!! lol
nuff on the rant, wth is The Human Abstract considered? genre wise.

The Human Abstract is mathcore (just the given name for technical Metalcore). They are great on their first album, but the last two have been decent.

i hear ya, i LOVE Nocturne, Midheaven was meh, and Digital Veil is pretty awesome. but Nocturne is the best of the three. they're one of my favorite bands when i just wanna chill out.

my favorite Deathcore band has to be... Circle of Contempt. i don't think it's the same one listed on SoM. but idk lol. they're pretty amazing, for a death Core band.

Oh, and DoomMetalPrincess: You're not Behemoth. Therefore spelling "of" with a v doesn't look cool, so refrain from doing so.

Well damn, excuseeeeeee me for not knowing that it's not very nice to spell "of" with a "v"...
