^ great fucking band.

Savatage - Fight For the Rock

Really just kind of lame and boring. I've never even liked Savatage that much, but this is honestly just a really pedestrian, boring 80's rockish metal. It's plodding, the keyboards are lame, and Jon Olivia's vocals are pretty weak here.

Savatage was pretty boring. Though I must say, the band they turned into (Trans-Siberian Orchestra) is great.

Morning Shallow - Senmuth

I think the thing that really bugs me about Savatage is that they're almost never consistent musically. I think they can write some really kickass tunes, particularly "By The Grace of the Witch" and the title track to Power of the Night. The problem is that they tended to have a fucking Ton of filler. (I haven't heard PotN in years, but I remember the album basically dropped like a fucking rock after "Washed Out") Shame, they clearly had the talent.

Toxic Holocaust - An Overdose of Death...

I think I actually listened to like half of this album before like a year ago but I couldn't remember shit about it. Honestly listening to it again, it's not a bad album. I don't like Crossover thrash at all, but this is pretty passable stuff. I've heard their earlier work has more of a base in Black Metal, because aside for the vocals this is coming off as straight up crossover. This is pretty decent though; the riffs are punky and memorable, and the songs are pretty fun for what they are.

Not exactly spectacular, but a fun listen. you could do a lot worse than this.

The Devil's Orchard - Opeth

If the new album follows along with this style, it will be amazing
