Hey dude, long time since I heard from you! Do you think you'll try to release this EP in a physical format, or maybe use it as a demo to approach a record label? Also, does your band have a BandCamp yet? Anyway, this isn't bad! Some nice guitar riffs and moments in here. All the instruments are well-played. Nice guitar solos as well! My only complaints have to do with the production quality--the vocals sound tinny and the drums sound too loud, but as it's your first release these are negligible issues. I'm also not fond of the Korn cover. I might be wrong, but it sounds almost exactly like the original with some sounds laid overtop. If that's the case then you've basically pirated and misappropriated the track. In any case, I think it would've been better to cover the song in the style of your band instead of making it as similar as possible to the original. I also don't really like that Whispered intro to "I Threw it All Away," but the rest of the song shows you're willing to try different things and acheive variety. I think the song is a little corny, but if you work on it you'll find ways to make ballads/soft songs work really well alongside really heavy tracks. Acid Bath was a band that was able to do this really well, in my opinion, with soft songs like Scream of the Butterfly and New Death Sensation. I do really like that noisy, Abrasive outro track though--it's nice and weird. That aside, regarding the original tracks, you definitely have something here, and if you keep working I'm sure you can achieve something special. Overall, I really like your original tracks that are heavy, my favourite song being "I Don't Need You." Also! If you Ever need someone to do album/merch artwork for CDs or shirts or whatever else, contact me! My website is here: http://curtisbotham.weebly.com/ I have done album art for a variety of bands before and if you want me to do something I am very eager to do it! Good luck with your band!

Um, you can do that with Bandcamp. And stop being so hard on yourself--you won't get much better that way. |
