When I was your age (long, looong time ago...not!) , Dawn of metal, I used to travel to Bucharest 8 hours on the train to get there. I would go to the concert and afterwards stay overnight at a pub - it was opened until 5 a.m., the good thing was that there were a bunch of other freeloaders there that came specificallly for the show and the bar owners generally welcomed them . And at 10 a.m. got to catch the train back - I was pretty destroyed, yeah, but I've always had a lot of fun so it was worth it.

Look up smaller pubs and bars in Stockholm, or a metal party somewhere in case the train back is in the morning.... Or use the Power of facebook to find a friend at which you can Crash after a concert (it's generally easier for guys to do that)

You should take festivals into consideration as well - like a Wacken 0  (way cheaper than Sweden Rock, from what I've heard)   Where there's a will, and some money, there's a way!

And I don't think it's about the city, Hell, I live in eastern Europe and I know we've got a really bad reputation here - same goes for the lucky motherfuckers in Bulgaria where all the exclusive stuff happen...

I think I heard that your mom wasn't too happy that you went too metal conserts but you ignored her. But since my parents do let me go to conserts that's not too far away I don't really want to do things like that. I don't really like the idea of going to a place that's pretty far away to go to a consert and then stay overnight at a pub without having my parents knowing it (my parents would never let me do that so in order for such things to work I would have to do it in secret.) I suppose it's not like this in rumania but in sweden they won't let in people under 18 (sometimes 23 because young people are apperantly annoying) in pubs after about 11 pm (not sure) so staying at a pub is out of the question. I don't have facebook so finding a friend from there wouldn't work. And why would I ever stay at a strangers house? If we were friends in facebook we probably wouldn't know each other in real life. My mom do live in Stockholm and I do stay with her whenever there's a consert that I would really like to go to and my parents even pay for the tickets to get there but they can't do it all the time. Even if I did pay for my tickets I wouldn't be able to stay there all the time espacially now because I just got a new sister today and she will probably prevent me to stay at my moms place. One of the biggest problems might be that most of the bands I would like to see rarely play gigs in sweden at all. My favourite bands (Orphaned Land, Blind Guardian, Equilibrium, Hibria and Sabaton) rarely plays in sweden. (except Sabaton). All the other four bands rarely play at all around here. All the other bands I really like aren't that famous and won't play gigs outside of their country.

Emm...my mom was actually very supportive about me going to concerts actually  - here parents are proud when their children are independent (or maybe me and my friend's families were a little weird)  It was going to the rock clubs in my hometwon she didn't want...and I admit to sneaking out a few times - that's what windows are for.0  Wow, I sound like such a rebellious teen ...

But you are right, there is a big difference about pubs here, they let people younger than 18 stay after concerts as long as they don't drink alcohol/smoke. I mean it's not worth to spend money on getting a room somewhere just for a few hours in the night and sitting in the train station waiting room can get boring.
The facebook ideea was lame, but it does work for some people.

I hope your family situation will work well for you. You'll see the bigger bands for sure, if you want to - in time you'll be more financially independent at least.

What not-so-famous bands do you like?

Burning In Hell, Ceremonial Castings, Cryonic Temple, Elysion, HammerForce, Lost Horizon, Powerwolf, Timeless Miracle and a couple more. Some of these bands are swedish but they don't play too many gigs because of various reasons. Lost Horizon havn't got a vovalist at the moment and it will be heard to replace their overly powered mega awesome vocalist so I suppose it will take a while until they can play some gigs. Cryonic Temple haven't released an album for a while so there's no tour in sight and Timeless Miracle are from FUCKING MALMÖ FOR CHRIST SAKE but they don't seem too active to play any gigs.

Well I've heard a 40 second sample of the new album which haven't got any vocals But that was a long time ago and they've still haven't released that new album. It does say that they are active in both metal archives and spirit of metal so I suppose they might be.

Just SAW Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Fucking amazing. Violin solo, piano solo, drum solo, and several guitar solos... it was awesome. And the amount of pyrotechnics would make Rammstein proud.

Cool, I've seen some videos of them, they seem like a pretty good live band.

Some photos from yesterday's concert in Sofia, Bulgaria:

Avatar - it's a melo death Swedish band, first time I ever heard of them. They did a great show.

Stratovarius - wasn't very good due to Timo's Voice, he seemed a little sick...

We notice personalized keyboards...

Helloween - awesome show, played a lot of my favorites like Ride The Sky, Helloween, Keeper of the 7 keys, I want out, Future World, March of Time (Deris just doesn't do it as well as Kiske) and some stuff from their new album...

On Dr.Stein. they also had the big inflatable pumpkin.

After the show, the people that had an exam tomorrow in another country 0 :

That happened at the London show.

That looks like a very small venue compared to the London gig. Where's the giant rotating blades you see on the cover of the album? I suppose the stage was too small for it.

Did they play Mr. Torture at your show? I was Gutted they didn't play it at mine and Nothing from their very underrated album, Gambling with the devil.
