Ive never heard of any tasmanian call a student a "maggot". Usually a maggot is a derogative term. Anywho, we dont say "brah" in tassie, and a small metal boat is a dingy aye. Instead of "verbal Diarrhoea", it's simply "you're talkin' shit mate". There's others like codger, terry etc

Yeah, but you are quite a way away from where I am. Tassie is an isolated santuary to me, somewhere I have to visit at least once.

The language is extremely different I noticed, I was talking to another one of my mates from Tassie (he's in Hobart) and he uses completely different language to what I use sometimes and he has a stronger Aussie accent as well, I'm guessing you're the same ryan5

Maggot isn't derogative where I'm from, Hell, they use it in Crocodile Dundee
