According to Wikipedia because I wanted to know what it is too. Every teen is talking about it and I don't f*** know what it is: I laughed when I found it

Post-hardcore is typically characterized by its precise rhythms and loud guitar-based instrumentation accompanied by a combination of clean vocals and screams. Allmusic states, "These newer bands, termed post-hardcore, often found complex and dynamic ways of blowing off steam that generally went outside the strict Hardcore Realm of 'loud fast rules'. Additionally, many of these bands' vocalists were just as likely to deliver their lyrics with a Whispered croon as they were a maniacal yelp."[2] The genre has developed a balance of dissonance and melody, in part channeling the loud and fast Hardcore ethos into more measured, subtle forms of Tension and release. Jeff Terich of Treblezine states, "Instead of sticking to hardcore's rigid constraints, these artists expanded Beyond Power chords and Gang vocals, incorporating more creative outlets for punk rock energy."

There are according to wiki also bands who incorporate electronica in their music: crabcore

Ok screamo is real emotive Hardcore that has a lot of screaming and Loudness, basically. It's kinda like noise rock where there's almost no melody. Post Hardcore is like Silverstein or Scary Kids Scaring Kids, its newer emo that isn't quite as hard as the original screamo.. Hardcore is like punk basically

ok

Screamo is different from Post-Hardcore and Hardcore. There is only a small difference but if you look at both Post-Hardcore and Screamo side by side it is a little easier to tell. Screamo is alot less melodic than your typical Post-Hardcore band and music is very unorganised. Also in screamo they use a different type of vocals. In screamo the vocals sound like they are screams sound like they are being yelled at you but in post-hardcore it they don't sound like they are just sceaming in dispair. Also in post-hardcore they use alot more growls.

Many people get confused with what post-hardcore really is but I like to think of it like this. Post-hardcore has 4 main corners. The first would be you average band this is in the middle. Bands such as The Subtle Way can be like this. Then you have those bands that lean towards the punk rock side where they have taken out most of the growls and screams and tempo is alot slower. Senses Fail is a great example of this. On the opposite end of the scale you have the heavy as Hell bands that sound alot like Deathcore. Asking Alexandria is like this. Then for some odd reason. There are alot of bands that mix post Hardcore with sludge. Bands like Cult Of Luna.

Its kinda like Black Metal where you have pure/raw black, normal black and Brutal black.

This confused me for ages but this is what I have come up with.0
