6.5/10- it started off really cool but didn't go anywhere interesting.
So, what I've decided to start doing with my music-listening is a "rebirth" of sorts. Since i think I've gotten to the point where I know the basic nuances and characteristics of each subgenre in metal, I'm now going to follow their logical timeline of progression-see where they came from, their various influences, scenes, contemporaries- stuff like that. In short, I'm going to start by listening to 1960's proto-metal/hard rock/blues rock stuff and slowly move my way Down the timeline. I think it'll really help me in having a greater knowledge of the genre as a whole, and it'll be the most fun I've ever had doing research.
As such, I've been listening to a lot of old Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin...stuff like that. My favorite band I've heard so Far, however, has been Budgie. Budgie mix vaguely metallic Hard Rock riffs in with a lush, psychedelic atmosphere, and even though it never progresses much or transcends genre or anything it takes you to a place you've never been to before (well, I'm only speaking for their earlier material, it's all I've heard thus Far).
Man, this stuff is great. Just makes me wanna isolate myself from the world, put this album on, and nod my Head calmly but vigorously, forgetting everything that matters, letting go and traveling to places that only exist within the deep havens of your mind.
If you are a false, don't entry, or you'll be burned and died!

5.5/10 I'm just not in the Mood for Budgie, I would be if I was stoned. Gimme some Ritchie Blackmore's Deep Purple or Rainbow any hour of any day, I'm always in the Mood for some of that good shit.

SOOOO excited for the new Autopsy album! YESSSSSSSS.
Great riffage, that doomy/melodic undertone is still there, but the Brutality is as strong as ever. That vocal section at around 3:10 is a little lacking, but good song otherwise... this song isn't my favorite from the TOMB Within EP (that'd be Mutant Village), but it's damn good.
Vocals aren't as good as they used to be (wasn't expecting that anyway) but man, this is great stuff. EXACTLY what the Extreme metal community needs, with all these shitty 'extreme' bands today; Job For A Cowboy, Suicide Silence, Cannibal Corpse...these guys know how it's done. I'm pre-ordering my copy of Macabre Eternal soon.
Moth&Moon, you got me thinking of Autopsy now!
Here's one of my all-time favorite Autopsy songs.

Good sense of cohesion amidst the combination of melodic atmosphere and rolly-polly chugging brutality. Yeah, there is chugging, but not enough that it bothers me, and it's mixed with a lot of other elements (nice interlude, too). It doesn't feel too crowded except for a couple places where the violin-synth interrupts, but other than that it's good. I would like it more if there was no chugging at all, though. The vocals really are lukewarm-ish; they don't add anything to the music or take away from it. Oh, and I think that album cover sucks, but that doesn't effect the score; I'm just throwin' it out there.

9/10 I really like Keep Of Kalessin (they were Eurovision candidates for Norway, didn't make it in the finals - reason for some people to find the 'untrve'), might catch them in a concert this year.
@Enigmatick - good for you! It takes a lot of time and patience to go through all important/'influential' bands, but you might discover some good stuff. When in Danger or in doubt,
Run in circles, Scream and shout.
