In a nutshell, punk (especially Hardcore and crust punk), shoegaze, and progressive rock are my main genres of choice when i'm not listening to metal.

Film Music. In fact I have the Ninth Gate(Composer: Wojciech Kilar) Soundtrack on my mp3 player. I also like Claudio Simonetti/Goblin from Dario Argento's flicks, especially Suspiria and Phenomena. Ennio Morricone for the westerns, Exorcist 2: The Heretic, Hans Zimmer for The Ring, Pirates...etc.

Hard Rock/Heavy Metal. All of the music I listen to today is a product of the music I was introduced to in the 90s. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, ACDC, The Cult, Deftones, Bush, Aerosmith,Metallica, Ozzy, Alice Cooper...I'm still a fan.

Classica/operal music. Especially Brahms, Chopin, Georges Enescu. Sumi Jo and Emma Chapplin for opera.

Medieval Music. Mediaeval Baebes. Corvus Corax.

Post Punk/Deathrock. The Superheroines. Xmal Deutschland. Siouxsie and the Banshees, Christian Death/Rozz Williams/Gitane Demone. Toyah (Wilcox, not Jackson) Cinema Strange.

Assorted music from the 60s to the 80s, including Pat Benatar, Heart, Patti Smith, Kate Bush, Sinead O Connor, Iggy Pop, Roxy Music,

Punk. The Plasmatics. Dead Kennedys. Bad Brains. Rudimentary Peni.

Various world/ethnic music. Azam Ali. Amalia Rodriguez. Mariza. Christina Branco.

Screaming Jay Hawkins, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Tom Waits...Blues though I don't know many by name.

I'm sure there's more but I can't think of much else.

I posted here before, but I'll edit my list:

Industrial (Blood Industrial, Psyclon Nine, T3RR0R 3RR0R)
Alternative Rock (Jack Off Jill)
Deathrock/Gothic Rock (The Beauty Of Gemina, Hatesex, Bauhaus, Miranda Sex Garden, Inkubus Sukkubus, Radio Werewolf)
Drone (Sun O))))
Indie Rock (Counting Crows)

And there's another band I listen to called Nox Arcana. I have no idea what genre it is. Some say Neoclassical, and others say Dark Ambiant. I honestly don't know.
