Man, I never realized how shit most of your tastes are until I looked at this thread, like goddamn.

I've been into shoegaze a lot recently, it shares a lot in common with Black Metal so it was relatively easy to get into...not hard to see why bands like Alcest and Lantlos and whatnot have merged the two styles, they're quite compatible. Been spinning the SHIT out of Loveless by My Bloody Valentine, Nowhere by Ride, and a bit of The Sunshine Factory too, though apparently they suck to shoegaze aficionados. Still just skimmed the surface of this genre though, I'm planning to dig a little deeper.

Neofolk almost came to me by Default, considering a shit-ton of metal bands have made neofolk albums, like Empyrium, Ulver and Agalloch. Besides albums by those bands, I also really like Death In June, Fire + Ice, Current 93, and Musk Ox. fucking LOVE Musk Ox.

Post-rock either bores the shit out of me or makes me tear up, so it all depends on the band. God Is An Astronaut, Mono, Nyctalgia, and of course, Sigur Ros are awesome.

I kind of listen to a lot of prog rock unintentionally cause my dad's a huge fan of 70's prog, so i get a lot of good shit from him. Rush and Frank Zappa are his two favorite bands, and they've got some good stuff, and he also has a lot of CDs by Adrian Belew, King Crimson and Yes. Plus he gave me Primus' entire discography on a digital CD. Cool.
Good taste runs in the family, fuck yeah.

Alright, I'm done being an open-minded faggot. Time to go on a Judas Iscariot binge.

The question, what do I not listen to, would be easier to answer, since right now I'm listening to As I Lay Dying, but before this song I was listening to Punk/pop rock.
I occasionally listen to pop and a rare rap song and there are a couple of classical artists that I like. I listen to a lot of rock, but I listen to metal more.

I don't really listen to much other than metal and rock. Occasionally, when I'm in the Mood for it, I'll listen to some pop though there are few pop songs I like.

I rather like a lot of music...(with metal being the most dominant)

Classical/Orchestra I was raised on, in the time before metal...-strikes an epic pose while Mozart's EKN plays in background- Probably why I like Symphonic Metal (Kamelot, Nightwish, Leaves Eyes, DB and Cradle, HB, Turisas, etc.)

Punk rock - the old kind (Misfits, Anti-Nowhere League kind). Just because I like listening to something I can just like for all its blunt, forward, rudeness and such.

ALL kinds of rock - Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Kinks, I. Ron Butterfly , Queen, some Velvet Underground, Skynyrd, Bob Seger, Allman Bros....

R&B - old R&B, like BB King, Muddy Waters, Fats Domino, etc., before it became imitation rap. (don't be fooled, I enjoy Kid Rock as much as the next southern-kid, though he's not exactly nu-R&B)

there are only two true pop artists that i still listen to, and one of which isn't known that much (which wouldn't make them "popular", would it?)...the "known" one being Germanotta (because, unlike the majority of pop musicians, she can sing without auto-tune...and shows respect for the classic rockers of old)
