Has there ever been a time, when you are listening to a song and think
"hey this song is ttly fully sick bru!"
and along comes a part that really turns you off. It just wrecks entire songs just because of something that seemed out of place or just no?

share your thoughts

There are three things that turn me off from a song.

1:30 - 1:40
why would you warp vocals in a song like that when everything else is pretty much normal, it seems like a last ditch effort to me, which failed

0:58 - 1:30
I don't even know why you would even add something like that to a death metal/deathcore song. Because it doesn't make the music sound any better, its just retarded.

4:00 - 4:50
Ruined a perfectly good song with some odd, unnautural sounds.

Vocal styles are a big point here. I really love the riffs in Doom Metal, but the vocals often Kill it. Lyrics that suck also can turn a solid song bad.

Also, a shitty riff can really hamper a song's momentum. Look at the main riff in Under a Funeral Moon: it just makes an otherwise awesome song suck.

True that, I Hate listening to a beautiful 1 minute intro and thinking "this is gonna be awesome" only to be introduced to shitty or out of place vocals.

The intro to this amazing Brujeria song

That intro was bad, but this one... this tops them all I think

Haha I actually think the Doom one works, if it's meant to be a joke.

I like Grindcore and stuff, but I think one of the main things that stops me listening to it as often is many bands having thirty short songs on an album rather than 10-15 average length ones. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't stop me from liking it, it's just a little bit of an irritance for me.

For example, I think Wormrot are awesome, but it's something about their... abrupt... manner that disheartens me. I completely understand the reasons for using the idea and so on, but it's not for me.

I don't like female soprano vox, most doom, -core, too kvlt for sound quality BM and most non-gay br00tal death metal.

Wind of Change by the Scorpions has that very Negative effect on my nerves....cheesy tune indeed
