I would say the biggest are Gorguts, Mitochondrion, Portal and Peste Noire.  I get a lot of flack for HATING those bands with a firey passion.

I can sort of see why somebody would dislike the first three, they're all of a similar ilk and that sound probably won't appeal to everybody (Personally, I think it's good stuff but I'm rarely in the Mood to listen to it) but I love Peste Noire. Whaddya dislike about them so much?
