Goregrind? Slam death? A few genres incorporate gurgles.

I could never get into Cryptopsy post-Blasphemy Made Flesh as well. Admittedly I haven't heard NoNe So Vile in a while and maybe my tastes have refined, but I remember it wasn't THAT special. I absolutely Hate their last two records too; even Once Was Not was absolutely terrible. (Lord Worm seriously deserved to have sung on a better record)

Grindcore is a really acquired taste, and I totally understand why people Hate the genre even though some of my favourite records come from it.

NoNe so Vile is a classic, Graves of the Fathers, Crown of horns, and Slit your guts are nearly perfect examples of how Brutal "slam" Death Metal should sound.
As much of a depressed person as I usually am, I can't fucking stand that DSBM stuff... It's so boring and repetitive (I s'pose it's a good atmosphere for that kinda stuff, and I can see why they do it), Silencer has it's moments where I can really get into it, but bands like Happy Days, Nocturnal Depression, etc. Are just pure boredom to me

Could never get into Cannibal Corpse. Although they're probably the most wide-spread Death Metal band out there, I just can't see them as much more than a generic and boring Death Metal band with a few realy good songs mixed in with stale garbage. I've heard TOMB of the Mutliated and only liked two or maybe three songs (yes, including Hammer Smashed Face). Every album has at least two standout songs but Nothing ever really grabs me like an Autopsy, Carcass or Death song would.
Highly overrated, especially given the Fact that like 50% or more of the 'best Death Metal albums' lists I see list TOMB of the... as the #1 album, which is BS in my opinion, especially when Carcass and Dismember don't seem to get on those lists very often.

Have you listened to Bethlehem (their first three albums), Shining or Melancholia Estatica before? They give the exact same type of atmosphere as regular DSBM bands, but are Far more interesting and heavier. You could also check out Lifelover, but they take on a more rock-ish feel.

And yeah, Cannibal Corpse sucks ass.

i've heard alotta hype about that Shining band lately so i figured i'd give em a listen to... they were pretty bland from what i heard0  i listened to some new music video they have up for their latest album (just to see what they currently sound like) and it just felt like i was listening to the same thing over-and-over for like 3 and a half minutes. Then it cut into some Opeth sounding acoustic bit.. and then back to the same Black Metal riff for like 2 minutes. the video of the guy shootin up, doing lines and cuttin himself was pretty cool though.

I only like unique DSBM which obviously there isn't much of. I do like Sterbend and Mutiilation (a very little-known little band that featured a rare-as-the-holy-grail release that's smeared in the band founder's Blood), and Annthennath (although Annthennath does have more Bathory-esque thrashiness to most of their post-Peans of Apostasy songs).
I also like Nortt, who are doom black but are in the same vein of DSBM as Far as tone and atmosphere go.

I haven't been able to get into alot of Sludge metal at all.
Ever Since I listened to Buried In Black by Kingdom Of Sorrow, I sorta figured all Sludge metal bands sound the same, even though KoS is the only Sludge metal band I know. I haven't heard of or found any more.
If anything, KoS sounds like a -core genre, imo.

For Sludge, check out:

Eyehategod
Acid Bath
Melvins
The Ocean (Aeolian era)
Boris (drone-ish)
Weedeater
Ufomammut
Soilent Green (sludgegrind?)
Sleep
Dark Castle
Amenra

You could also check out post-metal. It's pretty much post-rock mixed with sludge:

Cult Of Luna
Isis
Neurosis (first two albums crust, rest are post-)
Callisto (only first album)
Year Of No Light

Here are a few bands I can't get into:

Obituary (they have great riffs, but overall I find them boring)
Psycroptic
Martyr
Taake (regardless of mini giving these guys a perfect review, I can't seem to get into it)
Absu
