My second favourite genre is a genre that many metalheads seem to despise. I'm talking about Industrial Electro. Back in the 80's it was pretty much impossible to like both metal and Industrial Electro but now things are different. I enjoy listening to Industrial Electro almost as much as I enjoy Metal and have decided to show my favourite Industrial Electro bands. Maybe you haven't heard anything from this genre and maybe you should try it now but I doubt that you'll enjoy it as much as I do. So I'll post some videos of my favourite bands from the genre and if you haven't died of boredom of reading this text you might still have some Power to listen to some of these.

Kriminal Minds is a mexican band that is a newcomer to my favourite list. Got some really awesome Distorted vocals.

Apoptygma Berzerk, a norwegian band that I grew up with. This band really loves long intros and haven't got the Distorted vocals.

VNV Nation, another band I grew up with and is definitely one of my favourite bands of all time and this song is one of the (if not the) best instrumental soundtracks of all time in my opinion.

Grendel, another band with Distorted vocals with a pretty awesome video with footage from Full Metal Jacket.

Funker Vogt, sings in both german and english and it works really well together.

Nurzery [Rhymes] a pretty good band that i sometimes listen to.

So that's my list, I'll get lucky if I even get one post saying something good about this. We'll see.

Though when it comes to electronic music I love plain industrial, I like electro-industrial. In regards to you saying electro-industrial+metal, here you go:

i think only Grendel would be enough to call it a real, juicy industrial... all others are, well, some kind of... well,i meant that compared to freakangel, unter null looks retarded, compared to unter null,Grendel looks retarded, compared to Grendel vogt looks retarded etc.  my favs are ''deathstars'',freakangel'' and ''grendel'' of course...  also ''violent diva'' and ''pop''.... nowadays are very little horizont of normal electro music, back in 80's there were a lots of them... nice thread btw,Wish many posters...

Great song! Never heard of them before. The song could have been longer though. But I want to make something clear that you seem to have misunderstood the topic a little. I'm not talking about electro-industrial+metal I'm pretty much just talking about plain electro industrial. The thing about barely being able to listen to both of these genres in the 80's actually haven't got anything to do with this topic I just felt like saying that. But sure, whatever it doesn't really matter if you post some Industrial Metal anyway.

Yes, I realize that the topic is about electro-industrial. I just wanted to show a band that reflects both genres.

Oh, also, do you know of any darker electro-industrial bands?

Yeah, I like this genre, although I can't really tell the difference between Industrial and Industrial-Electro. I pretty much enjoy both.

Here are some of the bands I like:

Combichrist - A Norwegian band, I got into them through Rammstein.

Alien Vampires - Black Metal influenced Industrial-Electro from Italy

Feindflug - German war-themed Industrial-Electro, pretty decent

Suicide Commando - I'm not sure, but I'll say one of the more mainstream Industrial bands. I don't listen to them as much as the others though.

Nachtmahr - This is the side project of one of L'amme Imortelles members. Pretty Aggressive beats.

Kreuzweg Ost - This is something called Martial Industrial (or something like that). As the name says, it sounds like army marching.

early-Oomph - Although they are not that good anymore, they pretty much were better in their early (Industrial) and middle (Industrial Metal) phases.

SITD - One of my personal favorites, that's all, I can say.

Das Ich - Pretty enjoyable German Industrial.

Dawn Of Ashes - They ruined their sound when they started playing Melodeath, they were better in their Aggrotech days.

dawn_of_metal-srry bro but there's only Grendel and vogt would be plain electro industrial...  and if you're into industrial, you can't call these ripoffs plain industrial,i mean common, wtf, does ''KROQ'' rings some bells?! what about "KMFDM", "depeche mode","duran duran"?! that's what i call real plain industrial... Grendel continues their traditions as well as vogt (though vogt are pretty weak),freakangel and unter null...  but wtf does ''Kriminal Minds'' and ''M-bab/'' have to do with plain industrial? they even can't use standard industrial beats normally...

one of my fav's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb7oPySoxH0

Industrial = Ministry, Celldweller, Godflesh, Killing Joke, Pitchshifter, Swans (meh, kind of)

Electro-industrial uses more electronics. Industrial uses guitars and such, but they use them to sound like electronics, playing very repetetive riffs, but it turns out to a Abrasive electronic kind of sound.

Depeche Mode is darkwave. Duran Duran is synthpop. And yes, KMFDM is industrial.

I like the Abrasive overall sound of regular industrial compared to electro-industrial.

but still, depeche mode and duran duran,KMFDM and freakangel, they are using one kind of beat when other industrial accented bands like KM and M-bab/ using 4th-ed riffs with doubled accents... when talking about plain industrial, you should always consider clean technical aspects of it,not like what style of music it's called... i mean the Killers aren't close to KMFDM right?! but they use same structure as depeche mode,KMFDM etc. so in it's main Core it's plain industrial... electro music is more technical than sound-y so you can't tell what's industrial by how it sounds or what wikipedia calls them,,, you should check their main Core, their clean technical side, riffs, rhytms, accends and based on that you can call it industrial...
''Industrial uses guitars and such, but they use them to sound like electronics, playing very repetetive riffs, but it turns out to a Abrasive electronic kind of sound. '' -that's close to truth but in the main, there's no matter how guitars sound,or how repetitive riffs are,the main point is rhytm and accent... it's like reggae... even big mountain isn't like bob marley in some aspects the rhytm makes it reggae... with it's (and only) essential accents and rhytms,is decided what to call reggae and what not...
