Ahh. Agreed.
I really don't see anything wrong with it.
Even though my mom claims it helped Kill my grandmother. Which I doubt very highly, since she also took chemical drugs like meth and cocaine.
Besides, it's also kinda pointless because once it's legalized, people will start finding other things to smoke, like mushrooms. @_@

Panzerjager got it. I think my Mom thinks metal always has to be satanic Underground-Black-Metal or something...

You listen to Arch Enemy right?
Kay, tell your mom about the song Carry the Cross--it uses the metaphor for Jesus carrying a bigass slab of wood up a hill to symbolize society and whatnot. Just tell her, look, just 'cause they're metal doesn't mean that they can't have Christian standpoints (obviously AE don't have those ideals but make it up if it Means your mom will let you listen to the music). And tell your mom about bands like DemonHunter that're Christian and such.
That's what I did with my grandmother so now she's fine with me listening to Death Metal (though I haven't told her about those lyrics--she thinks I just listen to Christian-based metal 0 )

Because nobody lives alone? its normal that parents worry about the musical choice of their children but eir concerns should be reasonable and open- minded, not filled with prejudices

Hey, Pavel was having a rebel moment there, why'd you have to go and spoil it?

I don't know, maybe it's a matter of age, but I can not recall any moment in my life when my parents were interfering in my music/books/movies because they were concerned of their content. I can not even imagine that situation

Doesn't mean you have to be unsympathetic 0
My parents are fine and dandy with about everything I watch/read/listen to now, the only thing that bugs them is if I watch stuff with live Animal butcherings (I told my mom about Cannibal Holocaust, but that's the only movie I have seen or intend to see with live Animal mutilations and murders).

I just can not understand it. I may try being sympathetic. I mean, when I was a few years younger my DAD Saw me reading Nietzsche. He asked me why I'm reading his books, we talked a while about his ideology and that was it. I believe than anyone with a bit of intelligence is able to have his own thoughts, believes. I am not susceptible, I am not going to Hate jews after reading Nietzsche or Burn churches after listening to Aske.

No Offense to LittleRebel's mom, this is hypothetical, but Pavel, why do you assume everyone's super open-minded to strange things with extremist points of view? Sad to say, most people aren't very open minded and don't want or refuse to accept things like Black Metal or Nietzsche.
The person we're talking about happens to be one of those people. And let's not forget that she is thinking of what's best for her kid, even if she's going about it the entirely wrong way.
I don't even think her mom is refusing to let her listen to metal--she just doesn't like the idea of it.

By the way, LittleRebel, does it bother you that we're taking this conversation on this tangent? I can stop talking about it if it's too personal or whatever.
