You listen to Arch Enemy right? Kay, tell your mom about the song Carry the Cross--it uses the metaphor for Jesus carrying a bigass slab of wood up a hill to symbolize society and whatnot. Just tell her, look, just 'cause they're metal doesn't mean that they can't have Christian standpoints (obviously AE don't have those ideals but make it up if it Means your mom will let you listen to the music). And tell your mom about bands like DemonHunter that're Christian and such. That's what I did with my grandmother so now she's fine with me listening to Death Metal (though I haven't told her about those lyrics--she thinks I just listen to Christian-based metal ) |
My granny knows what most of those BM say and she's fine with it

Because nobody lives alone? its normal that parents worry about the musical choice of their children but eir concerns should be reasonable and open- minded, not filled with prejudices |
| pavel says : I don't know, maybe it's a matter of age, but I can not recall any moment in my life when my parents were interfering in my music/books/movies because they were concerned of their content. I can not even imagine that situation |
