I bought a vinyl on Ebay a few days ago that was listed as a 1st press. The catalog number is EPC 25414. I searched for this on Discogs, but they didn't have any information on the pressing. I would have bought the vinyl even if it weren't a 1st press, but I just want to know whether it is or it isn't. So, does anyone know how I can find out?

Thanks.

How can you tell?

Um, it'd help if you posted pics of the vinyl, disc label, disc colour, record label company, year of release, etc.

Unfortunately I don't have a camera, so I can't post pics.

It isn't colored, it's just a standard black vinyl. It's under Epic records, and the year of release is '83.

Look at the release year. It say released in 1983, an I check the band here, and it says the release year is 1983. But, it's the first pressing's from the Netherlands edition. So i reckon you got yourself a rare piece there

That doesn't mean much, as it could be a later edition, released under a parent label, released in another country, or the reprint didn't require a renewal of the copyright date. Black vinyl usually Means first press for older bands, though, but even then it's not for certain. What is the band and what is the album?
