InfinityZero says :  But SOM's information and how they present stuff is less consistent than MA.

really, how so?

Sometimes demos, EPs, and splits are categorized as full-length releases here, sometimes the song times are there, sometimes they aren't, and there just seems to be a lot more missing info on this site. I do try to fix that whenever I can though, but mods take forever to validate the corrections people make.

hmmm? yeah I guess. But there is a crapload of infomation that is missing from bands on Metal Archives as well.

OMG I just found a definition of M-A from a site
here

to be honest, some of the stuff I think is true (just saying) 0

Just sayin that there are a crapload of awfully-written reviews on here. Three or four sentences with grammar and spelling so bad I can't decipher them... there aren't many of those, but then again there aren't many reviews on this site to begin with. With metal-archives you can count on there to be reviews on mostly everything that isn't extremely obscure. Which is what I like. And the reviews are quite varied, too-- look at the reviews for Burzum's Filosofem or Dimmu Borgir's In Sorte Diaboli.

Oh, and that post is ridiculous (The One on I.D.) because it says the site is full of Joey Jordison and CoF worship. Slipknot isn't even on that site 'cause they aren't considered metal and most people there Hate CoF. It says people on MA think System Of A Down is death metal... what?

Thats why they have introduced the comment system. Also M-A is much more lenient when it comes to what is actually in the reviews rather than punctuation. which is a good thing becuse it does give the reviewer room for creativity and "free speech" but then again. I don't want to be reading 2000 words of horse shit, Sorry.

look at the reviews for Burzum's Filosofem

I've read the Burzum one and I was practically all like

That's why the score and the review title should hint to the person's mindset about the album. And no one says you have to read reviews, including ones on MA and SOM and anywhere else.

There's a lot of average-ish ones and terrible ones too.

I do like to read some of them because there is always one that seems to be interesting so I guess its worth the effort.

BTW, if you compare how members on SoM and how many are one M-A there is a huge difference. Also the English Part on SoM is extremely small compared to the french part. That probably why there are so little reviews and bands up on this site. (well, compared to M-A).

Oh and there was the thing about MA being full of metal elitism and douche-nozzles. Well, funny that I read that one, 'cause check out a comment I just got on my Fallen review:

"suck on it, infinityzero
suck it long
and
suck it hard"

Either this guy is trying to Sex me up on the internet (not surprising considering my iresistible charm) or he's more of an elitist than 20 Euronymouses and 30 Varg Vikerneses combined.

There's pretty much no comparison people, M-A is infinitely better than this website in every way.

MA has its advantages but then again so does SOM.
...But when I want info on a band I usually go to MA.
